Your doctor should be able to refer you to someone in your area --- and it helps to have a doctor's referral even if the specialist doesn't require it.

    Good luck!

Hi I don't know if you're still looking for a pain doctor in California. I am currently seeing one that specifically treats pelvic pain - he even does botox and nerve blocks. So he is very familiar with IC and PFD pain. I also find to be very thoughtful and thorough. His name is Dr. Lawrence Poree.
        Current treatment:
        Elmiron 100mg 3x a day
        Hydroxyzine 75mg
        Lyrica 100mg 3x a day
Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy started 12/10
        Ativan 1-2mg as needed

Hm I'm not sure if he does botox INTO the bladder, but he does botox injections into the pelvic floor muscles around the bladder, as well as nerve blocks. You can always call and ask. His phone number is 831-684-0600

He also does very good medication management and works on adjusting your pain meds to find the right combination. He isn't the type of doc that gives up easily and I've found that he thinks outside of the box.

There's another doctor: Dr. Hattori in SF who treats pelvic pain and does botox injections. I've never seen him, but he works closely with pelvic floor PTs so he might be well-informed?

I think Dr. Payne (urologist) at Stanford is doing some study with IC and Botox? I'm not sure what the details are, if its injections or instills...

Good luck and keep us posted!
