Pain Treatment Options?

I have an appt with my pain doc coming up, and I was wondering if anyone has any good medication suggestions.

I currently take Lyrica at 225 mg and Ativan as needed.

I've tried Cymbalta but I couldn't urinate while taking it, and it was awful because I would feel a very painful urge and my bladder woould hurt because it was urine....and I couldn't urinate it out. No way am I trying Cymbalta again. I was told that Amitriptyline would cause the same effect since they are so similiar.

What other pain meds can I add to Lyrica to help treat neuropathic pain? I really dont' want to take opiods.

I've seen Neurontin mentioned here on the forum several times. It seems like there are quite a few people who take it or have tried it. I haven't personally taken it but it is commonly used for nerve pain.

Thanks! I would like to try neurontin, but I dont' think it can be taken with Lyrica unfortunately =( Thanks for the response tho!
