  • Doctor That Will Give Me Pain Relief Being Pregnant

    Hello Ladies,
I live in Dallas, Texas area and am looking to find a doctor that will be understanding about taking narcotics while pregnant. I just found out 2 days ago that me and my husband are expecting. I am 5 weeks along. I have severe IC & very good chance I have severe Fibromyalgia(have not been looked at yet for Fibro, just got on insurance). I have all symptoms of Fibro. I was diagnosed with IC 2 years ago and even the ER dr that did diagnose me said I will probably have to be on narcotics for the rest of my life or if a cure if found because of the pain I experience. I take good care of myself as in being on IC diet, vitamins, stay away from acidic foods, drink water. I have not been able to see a dr for my IC because we have not had insurance until now. What I need is a good dr in the Dallas area that will have no issue with putting me on like Norco. I have been to pain management and this is the only pain med I do good on without feeling sick. It works decently enough to get me at least through the day. It doesn't take away all the pain but it does help and its something. I wouldn't want to take any harder narcotics. I want my baby to be safe and get the pain relief I need. I cry because the pain gets sooooooo bad. I dont know how I will survive this pregnancy with so much pain. . I hope someone can help me with finding a doctor like this. I wish may drs knew how painful IC & Fibro was because then they could be sympathetic & help us with our pain without a speech of feeling like we are narcotic seekers. If I didn't need it then trust me I wouldn't be on it. I just want to be able to live as close to a semi normal life as possible....without pain. Thank you for your help in advance. Gentle hugs to everyone that suffers

    Diagnosed:August 14th, 2009

    Treatment:Not Yet

Medicine: I am taking 7.5 Hydrocodon & 25m Phenergen given to me from the ER

I have to wait for 2 months for insurance to kick in from my husbands new job. I pray they will accept my pre-existing condition.

My pain is very bad in my stomach and right kidney. I pee up to 30-40 times a day and more frequent at night. I am extremely fatigued as well as physically and mentally drained. I am imprisoned inside my own personal hell.

I lived in the Dallas area for 6 years and just recently moved to Oklahoma. I saw several docs while living there. I was never preggo during that time but may be able to give you some names of good caring people to see. Message me if you want to talk.

Yes, please message me for some good pain drs that you know will treat me good. I have had fears that a dr is going to treat me like I'm scum, it's happened before. Thanks to all of the actual addicts, people that really need the medicines get treat very poor.

        i feel ur pain

I Got pregnat within weeks of being diagnosed with IC, but I am from ky. But my urogyno did not have a problem with me taking hydrocodone. I had a very rough pregnancy though and he was a month early but I had problems with endometriosis ad adnomiosis. I was literally 15 minutes away from a hysterectomy, when they told me I was pregnant. The baby being on my bladder really made my IC worse the only month that I didnt have to take pain meds was the fourth month!!! He did not come out addicted to pain meds either and He was 6 lbs 17 ozs and 19 inches long so for a month early he wasnt under weight. Good luck with finding a dr and with the pregnancy. best wishes, Becca

          You may be suprised...

I am not in your area but wanted to give you some hope. I just had a baby this past February. I was Dx in 2007. I was scared to death being pregnant was going to make the pain worse. Oddly I did not have any pain at all until my 7th month. Pregnancy seemed to put me into remission which my OB said does happen often. After my 7th month I did have pain (but no burning which was great), which was managed by low doses of hydrocodone and was a combo of my pelvic bones and IC, so it was not all IC related. You already have frequency being pregnant so I never noticed any issues there. I didn't have a flare until last month, 5 months after having him. Basically I had over a year almost totally IC free. I hope the same happens for you

I wanted to add, I was also on Protonix my entire pregnancy (I had awful heart burn) I think that acid reducer may have helped in the IC department.
