I'm very glad you found the IC Network. You'll find a great deal of information here.

I am praying for your daughter. I was diagnosed at the age of 38 with IC and, although it was bad, I cannot imagine a young woman of 15 having to go through this. Continue to be supportive of her!

I agree with the reply before me. Please support her. I was diagnosed at 16 and I am 44 now. My folks were not the most supportive and of course at the time not much was known about this disease. Learn all you can about different treatments and such and make sure to go to appointments and things with her. I went alone a lot. I was pretty traumatized about the whole thing. This is a not very nice condition at times but you can live a good life. Stay positive and that will help a lot. Good Luck!

          Hi David,

What a great gift you are to your daughter as she is finding her way through this tough time! I will try not to be too redundant by saying AGAIN that you should continue to support her as much as you can by going to apts and creating an environment at home that encourages an IC diet and lifestyle (this was the thing my parents helped least with). I do want you to know I offer full support for her if she needs to talk. I was diagnosed at fifteen also and I'm still only twenty. I can remember those first couple of years quite clearly and it was very tough not having anyone to ask questions of. I did send you an email, but I thought I'd make sure you have my info. by posting it aswell.

          Feel free to get intouch,

          Cameron
