  • 10th Annerversary

Hi, this is my tenth year with IC and I am no better now than I was 10 years ago, at the moment I have BCG installations which give some relief but only for a short time.Have been in hospital 20 times in last 51/2 years.
I am taking Oxycodone for pain, this helps but I am afraid I cannot see any future for me.

Welcome, Ron! hi Sorry you are feeling so bad still... But I am glad you are here. Sometimes just being able to commiserate with others going through the same thing takes the edge off a little bit. Hope to see you around more.
      Kim

      Diagnosed August 2001

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)

Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)

I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.” ~ Viktor Frankl

I'm glad you found the IC Network. There's a lot of information and support here.

There are many, many treatments available for IC --- I encourage you to read the information in the Patient Handbook. You'll find the link in the pull-down Browse Our Site menu at the top of this page.

I hope one day soon you will find the treatment that works well for you.

        Sending healing thoughts,
        Donna
