  • Toronto region IC clinics?

    Hi
There's a possibility I may have to move to Toronto/Oakville and I'm anxious about it as I'm currently on 2-3 days/week hospital IC treatments, and waiting to get into a urologist can take up to a year yet I don't think I can go a week without instills.
I want to start by finding out which hospitals in Toronto, and in the Hamilton-Toronto corridor, have IC clinics, and what treatments they do out of them. Is anyone here a patient at one of the IC clinics, who can help with this answer?
    Thanks
    Lisa
    ______
Severe IC developed fairly quickly, autumn 2010.
So severe that I was bed-bound & on 160mg/day morphine to cope with torturous pain levels, and unable to function other than hospital/medical appointments, for seven months. Then, miracle of miracles, something started working. I am steadily lowering the methadone dose level. I have been far out of that desperate nightmare hell zone for several months now and continue to improve.

    - Ranitidine (anti-histamine, H2-inhibitor) 300mg/day
    - Methadone 9 ml/day
    - Instillations:
    - 40ml Kenalog (steroid for inflammation) 2 x per
week, along with rescue cocktail of heparin,
    lidocaine, sodium bicarbonate
    - 20ml Uracyst, monthly @ $100/per
    - Depo lupron injections for endometriosis, monthly @ $88/per

    Hi ,

I know of a IC clinic in Kingston General Hospital , I don't know of any located in the Toronto area..
I have a doctor in Toronto , as I had the InterStim Implant done and he is the only one that does this surgery ..
I hope some girls that are from Toronto and area , can help out in finding a doctor in Toronto.

    All the best, Debbie

            Hi Debbie,

I live in Brampton and have my urologist here. I would like to know myself of any IC clinics in this area. My uro is familiar with IC, but not very passionate about it.
            Have you ever taken Elmiron?
