Holiday Program
Sharing Food, Toys and Community Spirit
The Holiday Program is a North Peninsula tradition. For over 20 years North Peninsula Neighborhood Services Center, Inc. (NPNSC) has sponsored this annual event to bring the holiday spirit to South San Francisco, San Bruno and Brisbane.
Thanks to generous contributions and volunteer help from the community we provide over 400 families with food at Thanksgiving and with food and toys at Christmas.
In October and November low-income families in South San Francisco, San Bruno and Brisbane come to our office at 600 Linden Avenue to sign up to participate. NPNSC solicits the community for contributions, food and toys and then coordinates the distribution.
We can’t do it alone. We need your help.
Holidays 2003 Update
This year we are expanding our “Adopt a Family” program. Volunteers are getting even more involved in community service by personally sponsoring one or more families for Thanksgiving and Christmas, allowing a personal touch to sharing the Christmas spriit. Several companies and organizations have pitched in, sometime sponsoring as many as twenty familes and making a day of shopping, packaging and delivering holiday surprises directly to their adopted families.
Sign-up dates:
October 13 to December 13, Mondays
Wednesdays and Fridays 9am to 11am
Saturday, November 1, 9am to 11:30 am only
Saturday, December 12, 9am to 11:30 am only
Last day to register for Thanksgiving is Friday, November 7
Last day to register for Christmas is Saturday, December 13
