  • San Luis Obispo area doctor?

I have one, but I'm getting increasingly displeased. The doctor always seems uncomfortable answering questions and the office is crazed.
Diagnosed with IC in 2005, PFD in 2016. My sister has had IC for 21 years and our mother over 30. 66 years of bladder fun combined!

I am in Paso. Is the doctor in SLO?
My uro doesn't think I have IC.
Are u on medication? If not how are you dealing with this?

Chacko is PPO only, and I had a fairly bad experience with her office staff. I told them what insurance I had over the phone AND offered to mail them a copy ahead of time to make sure everything would be okay, but they said no, not necessary. So I get there for my appointment and within 30 seconds they tell me my insurance is a no-go--but hey, I could pay cash if I wanted ($300 - $500). I very SPECIFICALLY asked about insurance on the phone to avoid a 180 mile round trip for nothing. And I did mention I was coming from a long ways away.

Why doesn't your doctor think you have IC? Are you urgency/frequency only?

I'm on lots of medications, but the herbals and pelvic floor therapy seems to help the most this round.

Well Pillowfight, that would certainly put me off too. That said,if you could pin them down about accepting your insurance (& get it in writing-just based on your experience)she is a great doctor for I.C.

Hischildrenee-one way to confirm for yourself if it is IC or not is to follow the diet very carefully. If you get better= most likely IC. If you aren't on the diet already, it takes a few weeks or longer to feel the improvement. And don't bend the rules (coffee, etc). From a former rule bender (coffee) shorty

Thank you. I was on the IC diet. Recently thought I could add some organic ketchup and I had tea for lunch today. Oh my gosh, I am in pain. Took a phenazopyrid when I got home. It is helping. I will never do that again!!! I was not diagnoses, but this confirms it for me....

Ketchup and tea are problems for many ICers. The good thing is that now you know to avoid them. I hope you feel better very quickly.
