  • Urogynocologist/Urologist Ventura/LA County

Hello! This is my first post! So happy to have people to chat with that understand what we're going through!
Ive seen a new urologist three times,***** whose name I got from one of the IC websites. I'm having problems with Toviaz and when I voiced my concerns, she argued with me and grilled me like I was on the witness stand. I've never had a doctor make me cry - until today. She's too aggressive and argumentative. I'm scheduled for a hydrodisstention with her, but I think I should find a new urologist.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I live in Simi Valley, CA. This is my third urologist in ten years. I'm resousrful and smart, even worked in the medical field before I became disabled, but am having the hardest time finding a urologist that treats IC and had seen patients with severe IC.

I also have endometriosis and ovarian cysts so maybe a urogynocologist would be best?

Should I call the office and ask what treatment plan they follow? Send my medical Records and have a phone consult? I don't have the energy to go to another urologist only to discover that they can't or don't know how to treat me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

    Jilly

Welcome Jilly..... I am sorry you are having such a bad experience with this urologist, I live Riverside County in the past I would see Dr.Lowell Parsons which is here in San Diego Ca and he was wonderful but I need to find some one local. Good luck

Without seeing a patient, it would be very difficult for a doctor to predict what treatment plan would be appropriate --- especially if there isn't a diagnosis. There's a list of medical professionals on this site; you might want to have a look at it.

        Hi Donna,

The doctor I went to was from this site, so on to the next one lol. I'm not asking the doctor to come up with a treatment plan before I see them. I would like to know if they follow AUA guidelines, AMA or will they try treatments that aren't "mainstream" like Botox or Cystistat.

I've had IC for ten years, but I'm still learning! I would have saved a lot of time and energy if I knew what questions to ask!

Thank you Ruth. I've had IC for 10 years, am on disability, and trying to find a good doctor with Medicare is hard. I will definitely save Dr. Parsons name... that would be a long drive for me.
So happy he helped you! Are you in remission? What helped you the most?

          Thank you so much!
