Perhaps you can start a new thread and title it "Georgia Doctor please." Just a thought. Maybe you get a response. If there is a Urogynecologist in your area you should consider seeing one. I recently saw one and was pleased.

Diagnosed: 2011 - have had symptoms for over 20 years. Diagnoses so far: Overactive Bladder, then IC, and now Myofacial Pelvic Pain Syndrome.

Medicines: For IC am doing PT, and will be taking Gabapentin, Ativan, Tramadol and Ambien. Ice packs and drinking vanilla shakes help. Foods that cause a flare, tomatoes, yogurt, coffee, soda, all sports drinks, and most teas. Take Verapamil, Naproxen (as needed), Omeprazole, Frova (as needed) and receive Botox shots(every three months) for migraines. For allergies I use Claritin and Flonase. (Feel free to ask me any questions about meds.)

Other conditions: Migraines, allergies, mild IBS.

          Doctor

A4aly, sorry you are having so much trouble with your doctor. Did you need a doctor for pain management or a urologist? What area are you in? Can you travel?

Hey A4aly, I saw you mentioned your doctor was on the list for GA...is she Dr. Boone/Roach by any chance? If not, then I would def check her out!! She diagnosed me 3 years ago and I absolutely LOVE her!!

As for my pain doctor, I see Dr. Rosenfeld with Intervention Spine and Pain Management and he is amazing at treating IC/Endo, which I have both. His office line is 404.257.1101 but you will need a referral, which you can def get from Dr. Boone. She highly recommends Dr R.

I live in the Atlanta area and both are located near Dunwoody. Dr. R sometimes works on Howell Mill as well.

I am very interested in this thread too. My doctor is a very unsympathetic and people suggest him all the time. Problem is everything he wants to do is very invasive or hasn't worked and it is his way or no way. I was looking into Dr Boone too, but have just sort of given up on the medical community at this point. I have IC, Fibro, Endo, PFD, Hypothyroid and Chronic Fatigue along with Migraines. My GP is trying and I am seeing and PT for the PFD...holy acronyms. Just trying to get better on my own if that is how I have to do it. Let me know if you find a gem!

Hey Stacie Lynn, sorry you are going through all of this... Are the pelvic issues new or have you had them for a while? As I mentioned Dr. Boone diagnosed me a little over 3 years ago, which was after 2 awful years of going from doctor to doctor to doctor to figure out what the heck was going on! I actually moved to Atlanta for better medical treatment because no one could figure out what was wrong with me. Dr Boone has been wonderful to me and I highly recommend her. Unfortunately none of the traditional methods of therapy for IC (elmiron, elavil, neurotin, bladder cocktails and physical therapy) worked for me but she has not given up on me and I cannot say that for many doctors, ya know!

Anyways my current therapies/meds go as follows: recently had trigger point injections to help with my pfd and it has really helped relax my spasms. I also had my trial for a spinal cord stimulator, which is a whole other story for another day, haha! In addition I am on cymbalta, elavil, ms cotin, hydromorphone, B&0 supp (when things get real bad) and lyrica, although lyrica is not approved by my insurance so my pain doctor has been giving me samples until I can figure out how I can afford it. I def still have pain but its so much more manageable then it has ever been.

Dr Boone and Dr Rosenfeld have made a difference in my life and I cant put into words how they have changed my quality of life!!

Sorry for the passion... I really hope that whether you try these doctors or
find some other ones you dont give up! You deserve to feel good and dont let negative experiences with the medical industry stop you from getting on the road to feeling better! Good luck and please dont hesitate to contact me if you need any numbers

                  ps: sorry for misspellings

Thanks for the info! I guess I was really spoiled with my Endo specialist. I am all but cured after seeing him and I was lucky enough to have him located here in Atlanta so I didn't have to travel like many of the women I would meet in his waiting room. I guess I just expect if you call yourself a specialist then BE a specialist! Listen, help, don't be a know it all who isn't open to other ideas! Sorry, just me venting...

No that is not my doctor but I will deff check them out! I have a lot of similar problems my doc wants to do instills every week which I can't afford and don't seem to make a difference anyway, pyridium helps some but hurts my stomach, and my dr wants me doing valium suppositories every night which is expensive messy and I don't see a difference. She's not willing to try anything different. She refuses to give me anything for pain not even tramadol. I just want a dr who is willing to work with me and keep trying until we find what works. Everyone's bodies respond differently to things and it's her way or the highway basically. Thank you everyone for your input!!!!!

I see Sara Bolden in Woodstock. She is really wonderful and puts you at ease. It is not easy to get treated for PFD, but she makes you very comfortable. She knows her stuff too and has a ton of patients with IC.
