Re: Support groups on Oahu and Maui

Aloha friends on Oahu suffering with IC. I propose that we create an IC support group on Oahu. How is Saturday afternoon for everyone at 3pm?

I just created a FB support group for us. Please send your requests to join at:

Feel free to call or leave a message for Amy at 456-4643.

Hope to meet you all soon!

I am sad to write I just moved back to the mainland to Boulder Colorado because of my husbands work and my son started the university here in Boulder. I would have loved to meet up in HI with all of you IC Patients. When I was living on Oahu there was nothing. But I do have to say I had good Urologists in Tripler Hospital who knew a lot about IC. And I did once talk to a nice woman on the phone who had IC as well , she was from Maui. But no support group. We may move back to HI in a few years . When I was living on Oahu I was thinking about maybe starting a support group but I knew I was moving .

I'm sorry to hear that you have moved, but I wish you the best of luck with your IC. There are better resources on the mainland and I hope you find a good support group in Boulder. Please let me know if you are ever on Oahu. Sending you waves of aloha and good health!

Aloha Amy. I was wondering how the support group on Oahu is doing. Did you ever meet up with other IC people on Oahu ??? And if yes, how many ???? Here in Boulder Colorado we have no support group, but I know some woman with IC. We may move back in a few years to Oahu.I miss HI very much I think I was happier with my IC in HI ,at least it was beautiful there. The ocean , the smell of the Plumerias, warm weather.....Aloha.

Hawaii is my favorite place! I totally fell in love with the atmosphere there when we first visited --- we were there when the volcano first erupted and among the first to arrive at the parking lot there. I love all the islands we visited, but Oahu and Hawaii's Kona Coast are our favorites. If I could live there, it would have to be Oahu for the medical facilities there. I can still smell the flowers and feel the warmth --- both the weather and the people are so warm.

            Aloha from Oregon,
            Donna
