There is a new support group starting up in Syracuse, NY on Saturday, March 8th at 1:00PM. Location is still being determined.
hi Our group will include support from Doctor's, Nurses, Medical Representatives from medical device companies as well as medication companies. It will include previous leaders whom ran the group a while back, and new patients from all over Syracuse whom are interested in understanding and learning new coping strategies.
This particular meeting will be about Interstim. There will be a Medtronic Representative to discuss this type of therapy for IC patients as well as doctor's, nurses, patients whom have the device already, those considering it, or those patients whom just want to come and meet other IC patients.
"The implantable InterStim Therapy system uses mild electrical stimulation of the sacral nerves that influence the behavior of the bladder, sphincter, and pelvic floor muscles. In properly selected patients, InterStim Therapy can dramatically reduce or eliminate symptoms."
