Hello Everyone!
Our first meeting of the year was quite successful! We had at least 25 Icers as well as partners and family members. We all shared some valuable information as well as the wonderful support from one another.
If we have anywhere near the same amount of people at our next meeting, we will divide the group into two. Mild and newly diagnosed to veteran Icer’s with more severe IC
Our main goal at the next few meetings will be;
Sharing all the different treatments options.
Compiling the names of the knowledgeable and compassionate
IC doctors treating us.
Also, sharing ideas that helps us cope and of course any success stories.
I will always bring along to our meetings, any new and updated reports of information that I receive or research. We are all so fortunate to have the ICN and the ICA for reference and breaking news. As everyone knows, the message boards are invaluable here on the ICN, and we have Jill to thank for that!
Being that our meetings are monthly this year, they will be more geared to support and information. As long as I continue to do well, we will venture into a good Forum with speakers in the Fall. I will need some volunteers for help on that. I do know that every meeting has brought us pieces of information and support that we cannot get from others. Only other IC patients know first hand what our limitations and day to day living are like.
Anyone that was given a paper (questionnaire,) at our last meeting, would you please fill out and bring it to our next meeting? We are formulating this information to help people find the good doctors as well as aid us in finding the best treatment options that is currently available to us.
I most enjoy meeting and getting to know all my new found friends. I am looking forward to seeing you all at our next meeting in February
Any questions or input, please don't hesitate to call or e-mail me
See you on February 22nd, from 1:00 - 2:30 at the Natick Senior Center.
Your IC Friend,
Molly
