Actually, I live about 65 miles away, in central New Jersey, but Dr. Echenburg is worth the trip for me!

Dr. Echenburg has been a gynocologist for many many years. He branched off from the OB part of it, b/c he wanted to help women who had chronic pelvic pain issues. So, I think he is a uro-gynocologist.

He spends 1.5 hours with you on your first visit just talking about your past all the way from when you were born. He educates you on the entire pelvic region structure - muscles, nerves...everything. He makes a diagnosis based on that, and then does an internal exam which only takes about 10 minutes.

I love love love his office. He is wonderful, Sandy the nurse is wonderful, Janet the receptionist is wonderful. His program is great, all the resources he gives you are invaluable. I can't say enough good things about him. Its nice to be the focus and not be in competition with the pregnant girls at the OBGYN. In my opinion, OBGYN'S make their pregnant girls a priority (rightfully so, and that is how it was when I was pregnant 2 times). But when your NOT pregnant and desperatly needing help, I think you can be pushed aside in a regular office.

URO'S are great as long as you can find a good one. My first one saw all old men and did vasactomy's. He didn't have a clue what to do with me!

If you are local, make an appt. You'll be happy you did. April will be tricky though b/c he will be out of office.

Hello! Is Dr. Echenberg a urologist or gynecologist? Also, how does he diagnose IC (by symptoms, cystoscopy, potassium test, etc) Thank you!

That's funny we have the same doctor!!! Did you go to the meeting in his office last week?
I met with the Nutrionalist in Bethlehem today also. Her name is Angela, and she offered me some great advice.

    We are neighbors!!

My doctor is Dr. Echenburg in Bethlehem off of 378. He is AWESOME, compassionate and specilizes in all areas of chronic pelvic pain including IC.

I am going there tonight b/c he is holding a seminar for all his "girls" and he is having a nutrionalist speak, an acupunture person and an herbalist. If you attend, you get a 1 hour free consultation with the nutrionalist on another day! Never met such a wonderful doctor in my life.......

    His office number is:
    610-868-0104

I would definitely give him a try before hauling off to NY.

My email is [email protected] if you want to keep in touch about this. Good luck.

IC SPECIALIST IN ALLENTOWN or PHILADELPHIA

I live in Lehigh County, but I can travel to Philadelphia. I just need a doctor who actually specializes in IC. My doctor treats it, but he doesn't really specialize in it. If you have the phone number, that will help. Thank you very much.
