Hello Everyone,
Come join us for our Spring Meeting on, May 19th, 2007, 1:00 - 3:00pm
Our agenda will be; 'IC & Relationships'
* Please mark your calendar, we will have lots to share!
We are announcing our new book which is going on sale for my IC friends at our May Meeting!
PLEASE UNDERSTAND
An Interstitial Cystitis Guide for IC Partners
Gaye Grissom-Sandler --- Molly Hanna-Glidden
Andrew Sandler --- Bill Glidden
Writing this book took much time as so many of you know. Being that this was my first endeavor, it was much more work and expense than first anticipated.
I have to say that once completed, Gaye and I felt is was definitely worth while! We both wish we had something like this for our partners when we were first diagnosed.
We had made a decision early on, that this book would not be lengthly. We wanted IC partners not to feel overwhelmed. Therefore our hope is that when the partners read our book, they will find comfort in knowing they are not alone. They will also find answers to many of those questions so many of us are embarrassed to ask or talk about.
Like so many of us who are veteran ICers, those that are newly diagnosed will find that there is more to life than IC and that intimacy can be achieved in spite of it! For those still working on a relationship, you can achieve it all as you will see in our book!

For those who cannot attend our meeting, you can purchase our book here on the ICNshop
~ MAY MEETING AGENDA ~
Our May meeting will be an open discussion which will include sharing information about all relationships in general. Most all of us have experienced problems with relatives, friends, those in the work force or in school. Even some of the medical professionals you may have encountered may lack the knowledge in treating us. When we do not feel validated this can lead to frustration which not only affects our self esteem, it can hamper our recovery.
I will have some written material to share with you. We welcome those who are doing well and have found ways to keeping their symptoms under control. This of course includes couples who have found positive ways to make things happen!
We also welcome new and positive information to share with our newly diagnosed patients or those who are struggling.
Remember, all questions are welcome!
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS
Please contact me by email if anyone is able to bring refreshments?
Also, if you anyone can help with the set up, clean up or the sign-in desk.
If you are bring refreshments or you are a volunteer, please tell Joan or whomever is at the sign in desk. This is your donation.
Check out the CAFE ICA for the great article on our dear friend, Sister Pauline Marcotte. It is on the official ICA website; Interstitial Cystitis Association - Café ICA - Volume 7, Number 3
Sr. Pauline deserves this recognition for the work she has done and continues to do for others. She has been a great help to me and has supported all of our IC friends at each and every meeting!
