Anyone in IL or Iowa near the QCA
looking for someone in the QCA just become friends with and maybe start up a support group. I know there was one in Davenport but I have heard it is no longer operating???

kelli,I have lived in Illinois all my life, except for a few months in Rhode Island when my husband grouphug was in the service. Funny that in another posting, you mention the weather. I noticed it when we were in Rhode Island. It was cold, but not Illinois cold! I live about sixty miles from you,in Sterling,Il. We have never had one here, so I consider this site my support group. You might try looking in Iowa City. It seems like they have everything there,but it isn't what I would really call close!to the quad cities. Email me any time. I understand and we all care about each other at this site. Hi Mary and welcome to the site. They do have a support group in Davenport but I have been unable to reach the woman who holds them. I was thinking of starting one of my own for people in Western IL and Eastern IA. I think the one over in d'port may have died out??? I have noticed there are quite a few new members from IL.....anyone else interested in gathering for a support group??? I used to live in Clinton, Iowa back in 1989-1990. I lived there for 2 years. My husband got a job there at Nielson Clearing House and then they relocated to Chicago area, so he found a new job somewhere else. I now live in Missouri, where I grew up. I moved around a little so my husband could advance his career. I have nice memories of that time living in Clinton though. Everyone there was so nice and the pace of life was nice and slow. Would love to visit back there sometime.
