  • Help--Just moved to Illinois-Weather

Well guess we must not have alot of people from Illinois??? Just wondering if the drastic weather changes here cause anyone problems like they are for me? In Washington I went through similar problems but not as bad.. All through this summer I was house ridden, the heat was awful. The humidity, being the worst. I just couldnt physically take it. Now its fall, and with the cold weather setting in, im now stuck under a few comforters. Everyone keeps telling me this isnt anything that the colds going to get much worse... Im scared to death. I already have so much more pain just in the last few weeks since it became cold. The summer was bad enough, I dont know what to do??? It really never got very hot or cold where i lived in Washington. The worst there was rain year round. No snow, or severe heat--definitely no humidity.. I just dont know what im going to do in another month when its below zero here??? Im not going to be able to get out of bed--not like its that easy on normal day--i cant double or triple dress, id never be able to make it to potty and undress. I also spasm with the cold, immediately making me have to go..... UGHHHH Anyone have any ideas on what I can do??? Thanks for listening and being here--please reply if you have any suggestions.... I do have a suggestion: polar fleece sweat suits! They are cozy and warm and comfortable.

I live in Oregon where it's wet all winter. For me the wet cold is far worse that the midwest where it gets cold, but doesn't feel like the whole world is damp.

    Hugs,

I have alot of trouble in the extreme weather too, it's bad if it's too hot and it's bad if it's too cold. In the winter I wear flannel jammies most of the time and have a heavy robe that keeps me warm. I also have to wear socks and slippers all the time. I notice when my feet are cold my whole body is cold. Also, heating blankets work well too. If I'm hanging out on the couch I can plug it in and I'm cozy warm. But one benifit for me is I have lived here all of my life, so I am more used to the below zero temps and wind chills. I would also recommend buying a very heavy coat with a hat/earmuffs and thick heavy gloves for going outside. It can get so cold somedays and with the wind it feels like it's tearing right through you. Hope I have been of some help, If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Hot baths, while drinking a hot beverage that your body can tolerate. Maybe even honey and hot water, if you can't tolerate anything else.

Also, Heating pads and blankets work wonders.
Maybe someone could get you a heated water foot massager thing too! Try to relax and pamper yourself in any way possible. Watch happy movies and thinks of things that inspire you.

Get lost in a book. Find someone who is good at feet or hand massages. Indulge. You deserve it!
