Hi Sandy and Grinch,

I live in Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area. Can either of you recommend a good uro? I am looking for a second opinion. My current uro is Dr. Martha Roach. She is located near Northside Hospital.

Hi Matt-

Finally found this thread !

I'd love to hear your opinion on Dr. Roach and her treatment options. She tells me she is "open to suggestions" but then really doesn't have any ideas. I am now waiting on broth culture results from a sample I sent on my own...if it comes back positive for any bacteria, I am going to take it to Dr. Roach.

I'm also interested in where you are getting treatment now.

It might be easier to communicate through e-mail, mine is [email protected]

Dr. Roach was my doctor also. Another doctor I would suggest is Dr. Joan Hader near Northside Hospital. I really liked Dr. Hader, but most of my IC history is with Dr. Roach. I will probably start seeing Dr. Hader with my IC gets untolerable again.

Hey there I am just south of Savannah. I was diagnosed by Dr. ****** but was made to feel so guilty for not getting better after 2 years that I sough other treatment. I now see another Doctor in Jessup, he's great. He is talking about interstim now though. I have researched it and am going to inform him that I don't wish to have it. I get treatments every two weeks. I get a Hydro about every 6. This is the only management that seems to work for me. Otherwise I end up going up to 60 times per 24 hour period. Now doing this regime I am going 15-25 times. I do have alot of Pelvic pain and have been also diagnosed with IBS and Rhematoid Arthritis.
I follow a "proper" IC diet so as not to aggravate my syptoms further.

Hi there.Y'all live just down the street from me. I'm in Roswell but teach school over in Sandy Springs. Your posts caught my attention because of the reference to two different uro's in our area. I have been to both over a period of 2 years. Most of my medical treatment is done at the Cleveland Clinic due to so many different complications.I have the GREATEST uro at the clinic if you ever decide to go up that direction. I'm a true southerner but will go anywhere to get answers for this ic stuff. It would be interesting to chat sometime since we live in the same area. It does help to compare notes and stories. Good luck with getting and staying healthy. jodee

I live in Thomaston Georgia but my Dr. is Dr. Thomas Schoborg of Atlanta Urological group next door to Atlanta Med. Center. He saved my life in 1995 by reimplanting my ureters. (I had bi-lateral reflux and extra ureter on both sides) As of yesterday when he diagnosed my IC, I can honestly say this man has done more for me than any Dr. and he actually listens to what the patient has to say. I can only hope everyone elses Dr. is as caring as he is.

Glad to know there are other Georgians/Atlantans out there. I just started seeing Dr. Gilbert Foster at Emory Clinic. I liked that he seemed to actually listen to me, and had a good sense of humor, spent time really explaining all of the options available to me, etc. I'll let you all know how it goes with him. I *wasn't* too thrilled about having to be catheterized to do a clean catch sample. His nurse did do a nearly painless catheterization for which I was immensely grateful, but the end result for me anyway is always the same -- pain and burning for 2 days afterward, even with the smallest size. cussing
