Hi JD,
I'm from Chapel Hill. Not too far down the road. Please feel free to write me at [email protected]
Have been able to find a wonderful urologist in Durham, and have recently started treatment with Elmiron. Hope it starts working soon, but I am certainly willing to give it the six months.
Hope all is going well for you.
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Melly

Hi - I'm from Raleigh and am interested in communicating with anyone in NC!! Especially about uro's....I'm seeing a new on in Greensboro next Monday but he's not covered by my insurance (I don't care at this point). I think one of you mentioned a uro in Durham - my e-mail is [email protected] and i'd be interested in getting his name. Take care everyone from NC! jean

Hi all NC dwellers,
I haven't been checking the boards that much lately. Had surgery about 3 weeks ago for an ovarian cyst. Feeling much better now. Goodness feel like I have been falling apart since I reached my 30's. Please feel free to write me [email protected] if you want to chat further. I have been fortunate to find good resources ( mainly an understanding urologist) here in our state. Also, Dr. Evans, one of the leaders in treating IC is based in Greensboro. I have consulted with him once (a very worthwhile trip to Greensboro).
Hope everyone is doing well. With the use of Elmiron and Elavil I feel that I am reclaiming my life. The side effects for both have not been too bothersome.
Feel free to write me. When I am not chasing a 14 month old around the house, I do occassionally visit my computer.
Hugs to all,
Melly

Hi Melly: Hope you are doing great after your surgery. Glad to hear from you. I see Dr. Michael Wolff at Burlington Urological in Burlington. I really am glad I found him. He really keeps up with what is going on with Ic. Hope you are feeling ic free and am glad that your meds are working for you. I will email you soon as I can. I do not have a computer at home and can only use this one at work, before work, or at lunch. Take care.

Hi! This is Jean from Raleigh. I too saw Dr. Evans in Greensboro last week - he was WONDERFUL. I'm feeling much better since I had the hydrodistension 2 months ago (it took a while) and I'm also taking elmiron, elvaril, flomax, MSM, Cysta-Q, and hydroxizine. I also quiet smoking a week ago. My symptoms are worse for 2 weeks right after I ovulate, but last week I had no pain and it should have been my worst!! So, hopefully this will continue. Dr. Evans has put me in for a drug trial - I think its RTX (or RXT). He has great faith that the drug will work so hopefully we'll all have another drug to try (or maybe just this one? - sometimes I don't like taking all these meds). Anyway, bye from NC!! jean
