  • Dr in WNC, TN, or SC/GA?

    HI everybody,

    I live in Western NC.

Can anybody recommend a kind and caring dr in Asheville, Knoxville TN, Greenville SC, Atlanta GA, or in that area?

I'm happy to drive some distance if it's a good dr.

Many thanks for your help and advice,

    • Also horribly progressive, debilitatingly painful, severe vascular rosacea and erythromelalgia.

    • Stuff that helps me--
    - the IC diet
    - CystoProtek (wonderful stuff, highly recommended)
    - Vagifem (vaginal estrogen)
    - Remeron (Mirtazapine)- 30 mg nightly for depression and IC nerve pain
    - Hydroxyzine- antihistamine for IC

You can find some information for doctors in your are here:

Pay special attention to Tennessee/Knoxville - Ragi Doggweiler MD and NC/Greensboro - Robert Evans MD FACS.

I have not seen either of these doctors, but I know that several of our Members have and rave about both of them.

Shopping??? Did someone mention shopping? I'll get my hat... ;-)

Where I can be found most days.

        You have two fabulous suggestions!
Leslie mcQuay once helped with the support group in Knoxville. Over time no one could keep it up.

As for Dr. Doggweiler. My husband has seen her for kidney stones. She only does certain problems for men. Luckily, for hubby, she could take on his problem. I haven't met her yet. But hubby told her I would be coming in with the IC problems and she smiled and discussed it with him a little bit.
So I look forward to getting in with her as my uro.

Take care and hopefully you'll get someone you really like!

In Atlanta, I would highly recommend Dr. Catherine Schwender at the Georgia Urology office in Covington. I have been seeing her for over a year now and I have consistently received outstanding care.

I highly recommend Dr. Evans (Alliance Urology) - he is now in Kernersville (which is just outside of Greensboro - probably a bit closer to you - since you are on the western side of NC).

Severe Allergies since 18 months old
Meds:Aterax 25 mg @ night (only during allergy season - now)

My vote is still for Dr. Catherine Schwender. I have been seeing her for over 8 years now. I love her and her staff. She is at Urology Group of Athens now. She sees patients in Athens and Bethlehem, GA. Her office phone number is 706-543-6261.
