  • East Tennessee (Needing help)

I'm living in Johnson City, TN and looking for any suggestions for local doctors. I have been in so much pain lately and after years of not having insurance I finally have it again. (And good insurance at that!) I'm feeling a little discouraged though. The memories are starting to come back of all the frustration from dr appts and trying so many different things. I'm a little scared honestly. I just want to be able to get this under control again so I can have a somewhat normal life. My husband seems to be scared for me, and some days of me, so I am very happy to have a place to come and vent with people who understand and can give advice.
    Diagnosed:
    October 2005 with IC
    June 2010 with endometriosis
August 2013 stage 4 kidney reflux
    Chronic UTIs

I have been without insurance for several years but luckily I just got it back. Curently only treatment is Heparin instills done weekly.

If you go to http://www.ic-network.com/professionals you may find a doctor near you who has either been recommended by other IC patients or expressed interest in caring for IC patients.

    Good luck!

        Re: East Tennessee (Needing help)

This is an old thread but I live in Elizabethton, TN. I see Melissa Garrisenger, NP state of Franklin OBGYN. I have also seen Dr. Herrel in johnson cit, tn but he has students so it can be aggravating. They give me my IC treatments to do at home. I also see Dr. Klein at Northshore urology in knoxville, TN. I am having problems again and nothing helps. Hope you have found someone by now! Feel free to email me anytime. You can send me a private message.

I know this is an old post but is it Frederick Klein that you see and what are your thoughts on him. Is he good? Thorough?
