  • Moving to Plano, Texas this spring - looking for doctors

My husband and I are planning to move to the Plano area this spring. I am not as worried about leaving my uro, but I am terrified at leaving my pain doctor. Do any of you have suggestions for wise yet kind pain doctors in the Plano area?

    Doctors needed:

    Uro
    Gyno
    Pain Doctor
    Allergist
    Primary Care
    Physical Therapist
    ENT

Thank you very much! Finding doctors in advance and being able to meet them before the move will calm my fears and lower my stress level!

    doctors

    Hi,
I don't know if any doctors myself, but my son and family live in Galveston, and he works with some doctors through his research. If you want, I could ask if he could suggest someone. Not sure he can, but might be worth a try if Plano is near Galveston or Houston.

      Hi!

I live north of Dallas. And I have to preface this by saying I haven't used this woman. BUT, if you look at the "find a doctor" section of the main page, there is a woman named Teena Petree w/Summit Physical Therapy. I have looked at the map and she is actually closer to Plano than to Dallas proper or to me for that matter. There is also a urologist I found but I can't find his name right now. I'll keep looking and keep you updated!
Katie-46 yr old female dx'd with IC after 15 years of symptoms off and on long term antibiotic use, GERD,IBS and now IC diet, gallbladder removed, endometrial ablation w/tubes tied
      Lexapro-20 mg
      Aciphex
      Ambien-as needed
Percocet-7.5 up to 3 per day as needed
      Valium-10 mg x2 per day
      Phenergan-1 at night
      Prelief w/everything
      Now recovering from acute pancreatitis

      Currents treatments that help somewhat:
      Heating pad
      Hot baths
      Ice
Being VERY still while lying down with legs elevated

        Ok

Again, look at the main page under Find a Doctor, Dr Kyle J Matthews is in Plano. I have not used him and don't know anything about him but he's on the list here so someone has recommended him and he's worth a look.
If you have any questions about where a doctor might be (in the area) you can certainly ask me. I've lived here my whole life and Dallas/Ft Worth is a pretty spread out area so I can let you know if it's close to Plano or not.
        Good luck with your move!!!

I just moved from the north Texas area to Oklahoma and my biggest regret was having to leave my pain doctor. He is THE BEST! I drove down there for several months just to keep seeing him but then found out his best friend is a pain doc in Oklahoma city so now I see him. This doc is in Dallas but on the North side. I lived in Flower Mound and it took me about 20-30 minutes to get to his office depending on traffic. His name is Dr. John Claude Krusz. He is very knowledgeable and really listens. Very willing to try new things and encourages the patient to read and get educated. He is the best pain doc I have ever had - and that includes his friend here!!

Oh wow! So many wonderful responses...thank you all so very much! I am going to check into these doctors and go from there. Moving is so scary with this illness for me. It was so hard to get help to begin with...now that I have my pain doctor, I hate to leave him...but I know we can't stay.

Thank you so very much my IC friends!

I went somewhere that made me worse in Plano, I never had pain until I went there just frequency. They have you doing kegals plus bladder retraining, 2 things really bad for IC and use a crazy amount of different meds in their instills. They aren't listed here but I will tell you about the practice in IM. I found them off this site so sort of hoped it would be good
http://www.vanessaic.wordpress.com Read my blog about my journey into RAW food, not taking meds or horrible instillations and having stem cell treatment done for IC that I have had forever.

vanessavy, I am so sorry that happened. I hope that you have found a situation that is of benefit to you.

UPDATE: I have not posted about my move in a while. We were planning to move to Texas to be closer to my daughter. Her father died a few months after this posting for doctor suggestions. We have decided to stay in Washington as there is no reason for us to relocate now. My daughter is back home here in Washington with me. I am sorry I did not update this post sooner, it has been a very rough time for all of us. We are still dealing with probate over a year and a half later. Very stressful and time consuming.

Thank you all for your references and information. I truly appreciate it.
