  • Good uro in Portland OR

Does anyone have a reccomendation for a uro in the Portland area. The list I looked only had a couple in Eugene, and bit of drive from here. I saw one a few years ago, but wasn't very happy. And, are there any women uros? I would be happy with an excellent male uro, however. Thanks for any input!

    Hi,
Yes, I would recommend Dr. Jaroslava Zoubek. You know, I may not be spelling her first name correctly, but the last name is correct. She is my doctor and she has a lot of experience with IC. She is very low key in her approach, so you'll have to decide for yourself if she is the right one for you and for your case. I'm in Portland, too, by the way.

Thanks, Carolyn! And a woman too! I've been to two others I wasn't impressed with and who didn't seem to know much about IC, so next time I'll try her.
I'm right near Beaverton - near Sunset High School off of Cornell.
I'm glad we are only going to have one day of this HOT weather.
Have you been seeing your uro long? Did she do your diagnosis?
      Thanks! <img src="graemlins/bunny.gif" border="0" alt="[bunny]" />

        Hi,
Her office is at St Vincent's, so it will be really close to you. Yes, she diagnosed me, but she did it based on symptoms (and she did an in-office cysto to rule out other things). She is very non-aggressive. I have beenseeing her since November 1996 or something like that, but have hardly seen her at all in the past few years. You'll have to see if you like her style. When I first saw her, I was wishing that she was much more aggressive because I was beside myself. If she had said "Let's carve a hole in your bladder with a steak knife" I would have said, "Yes, go for it! Anything to stop the pain!" But she didn't. She tried to do the least amount possible. Well, most of the time I have no symptoms and I believe it is because she didn't give me any treatments that made me worse by irritating my bladder. I'm now very grateful that she was my doctor. However, other cases are different, and other people are different, so your experience and desire for intervention may be quite different. If you see her, let me know how it goes.
