    Can you provide some more info on the support group for DFW. I'm a man with IC in Arlington. It's been a while since I've checked this site, but the support group you mentioned piqued my interest. Thanks.

      Ken, I sent you some info on the group-hope you received it! Our next meeting is August 4 at 7:00 pm at Baylor in Richardson! I had to miss this last meeting b/c of babysitting issues, but I plan to be there next month!

        Hi all,

        I'm a newly diagnosed IC patient (two days ago). I live in the Austin Area (Round Rock), and am considering going to the support group. Mostly I want to meet the leading doctor there and see about having him treat me. My doctor is all about the Elmiron, which is good, but I'd like to also explore some alternative therapies. So far Prelief is great! At least for the last 48 hours anyway.

          I am the assistant support group leader for the Southeast Houston area. The group is IC patient run. In fact, we don't encourage doctors to attend our meetings unless they are an invited guest and/or speaker. However, we do have many doctors and researchers involved with our group. We have not had the same doctor speak twice at our meeetings--as of yet. We can usually refer you to one of several area doctors who treat IC or to an IC specialist.

            I am also in Austin I havent been yet cause I didnt want to go alone but Austin has a IC Support group thats meets the second Monday in every month.Do you have a good uro if not I will give you my Drs name he is a blessing

              Sometimes it can be very difficult to enter a meeting alone when you don't know anyone there. But --- if it's an IC support group, the minute you walk into that room, you are no longer alone. I really encourage every ICer to attend support meetings if at all possible. It really does make a difference.
