HI,

THIS I HOPE FINDS IT WAY TO SOMEONE WHO LIVES IN AZ. I AM REALLY HOPING TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE IN AZ WHO SUFFERS FROM THIS SAME DISEASE. I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WITH THIS DISEASE AND SINCE BEING DIAGNOSED I HAVE BASICALLY BECOME A NOBODY. IT WOULD BE GREAT TO SHARE MY STORY WITH SOMEONE WHO LIVES SOMEWHAT CLOSE BY. WELL ENOUGH FOR NOW.

I live in Prescott, Arizona at the present time, and will be moving to Gilbert neaxt year.

I have had IC for ten years, actually more than that but wasn't diagnosed till ten year ago.

Since I have been on Elmiron I have had only one flare in ten years. Prelief the tablet you take with acidic meals greatly helps also...

Hi Joyce,

It is nice to be able to chat with someone who lives in AZ. I am twenty-nine years old and I work in the medical field. My uncle used to live in Gilbert. I worked in his auto store when I was fifteen. Why are you moving from Prescott though? It is so nice there. Well I have been diagnosed with IC for about five years. I have had three hydros, two years of DMSO. I take a anti-spasmodic prescription and pain pills as needed. I suffer from insomnia and occasionally have to take temazepam for sleep. I don't believe I suffer from this disease as bad as some people do, but I do have my really bad days. Working in the medical field I see a lot worse so that helps me from feeling sorry for myself. I hope your doing good. There is a support group here in Tucson, but I haven't called yet.
Anyways take care. Good luck with everything and your move.

Becka Maria,

I live in Benson which is 50 miles from Tucson & was also looking for someone who lived fairly close to Benson. I also have not met anyone who also has IC. I was diagnosed with IC February 2001 due to symptoms and then the diagnosis was confirmed with an Cystoscope August of 2001. I am currently on five medications for IC two of which are for pain. If you want to call to talk email me privately & I will give you my phone number. I’m home all day because I’m no longer working due to IC & am currently in the process of applying for SSI & am awaiting a court date due to the fact that I have been denied benefits twice. I also applied for benefits from DES & was denied and found the group below in the book that DES gives you. My case at DES is currently being revaluated (by the office manager) due the fact that my case worker denied me benefits & when I called up to find out about getting a hearing the office manager told me that that case worker has quit and walked out of her job shortly after my case was closed. Wish me luck because it is very hard to get by on one pay check.

I have just found about a group called ADVOCATES FOR THE DISABLED, INC. Who HELP QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES** OBTAIN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS and they are located in Phoenix, AZ. There web site is http://www.cirs.org/homepage/advocates/ .

How are you? I am thrilled to hear from you .
I am sorry that you are having such problems with SSI. I hear they can be a pain. I work for a Doctor. I am a medical assistant and have three young children so I have to work. I am currently at this moment not feeling too well. PMS makes me feel really bad. Migraines and spasms .
What type of meds do you take? Do you have insomnia? Sorry I ask a lot of questions.
Well if you want to chat some more you can e-mail me at [email protected]
Maybe we can chat on line?
Write back soon

Friends,

Hi Benson

Central Phoenix here!, Kewl to meet another Arizona person! I've only been to Tuscon twice (gem show) and have no idea where Benson is. I'm looking for a new physician as sometimes it just takes time to find the right one. I don't click w/ my urologist so I'm trying to find the right Dr. for me instead of settling on one. Do you have alist of Dr.'s to select from or are you looking for just the right one? Hope all is going well. PEACE and JOY
