• Today is my AA birthday!!!!!!!

Today I am celebrating 15 years of sobriety Doesn't seem possible.....15 years ago I was soooooooooo close to death and I never believed for a second that I could do it.
But, because of ALOT of AA meetings for 7 years and then the I support I've gotten here for the last 3 years, I haven't had to pick up a drink and I am geeked

Somewhere there's a reason /Why things go like they do /Somewhere there's a reason /Why some things just fall through /We don't always see them /For what they really are /But I know there's a reason /Just can't see it from this far /Maybe I don't like it, /But I have no choice /I know that somewhere, /Someone hears my voice / I thought I knew it all /I thought I had it made /How could it end this way? /I thought I knew Somewhere there's a reason /Why things don't go my way /Somewhere there's a reason /That I cannot explain /Just like the change of season, /Just may not be my turn /But I know there's a reason, /The lesson's mine to learn

I did something VERY special.....my kids still don't remember the date and that doesn't matter anymore. Infact, I don't think about it that often, but I spent the evening with my husband, my son and his VERY VERY pregnant wife and it was GREAT

Happy birthday!!! This is an important one for you. That other birthday you have every year is not one you chose --- this is the one you selected --- and every year is a new celebration of the difficult path you walked to get where you are.

Warm birthday hugs,
Donna
