This is getting ridiculous! How many of you have to do the 'toilet wiggle' to empty your bladder?? This is a new thing for me...side to side and touch your toes...LOL
Sometimes I do the side-to-side or lift one cheek.
Medical "Issues":
IC
GERD
Tachycardia(resting rate is 125-130 ) Medicastions:
Tramadol-as needed (IC)-50mg
Elmiron 200mg twice a day
Levsin .125mg 1-2 pills 4 times a day
LOL sometimes I have to do the blot with toilet paper to make more come out or lean really far farward and touch my toes, it just varies.
Christine
I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.
I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)
Proud wifey of Shane, mommy to Griffin, and step-mom to Logan and Gage
Also proud mom to the best Bullmastiff on earth, Claus
That makes me feel better guys... I am in the middle of a bad flare and all of a sudden I can't quite get my bladder empty the normal way...and was just wondering if this happened to other people.
Sometimes it helps if I stand up and sit back down.

Let's keep praying for a cure.

HI! I do the stand up and sit back down routine, or the twist to one side thing.....it's crazy what we have to do just to pee! LOL Roxie

For IC I use Elmiron, Elavil and Freeze dried Aloe Vera (it works likes Elmiron, but naturally)and Azo as needed. I also take Zegerid, Randitine for Barrett's Esophagus. (which causes me to have constant yeast infections!)I take Cymbalta for Neuopathy/Myopathy pain. I use the Climara patch for menopause symptoms. I'm on a very strict diet because of the IC, IBS and Gastric Bypass. I take Primal Defense Probiotics and whole food Iron.
I no longer have the awful urethral pain! I've been using MSM gel now for 4 mo. and haven't had a flare up or the urethra pain.....it's amazing stuff!!:woohoo:

Lee Ann Current Rx Meds: Atarax, Ditropan, Elmiron Prior to pregnancy: The above 3 meds PLUS Neurontin, Topamax, Loratadine, continuous OrthoCyclen, Lidocaine Patches PRN, Temazepam PRN, & Vicodin PRN Hooray for babies! Misc. lifesavers: Hot baths, ThermaCare Heat Wraps, Ice Packs. The IC Diet has changed my life. Didn't work for me: Detrol LA, Amitryptiline, Morphine, Percocet, TENS unit, Interferential Pain Stimulator Unit, Hypogastric Plexus Nerve Block IC (Mod-Severe) since 1996
UPDATE: 5/21/08 Pregnancy and breastfeeding afterwards have alleviated my IC symptoms more than anything, EVER. Most days are 100% pain free & I now have normal frequency (as long as I take these 3 meds).

and it's too bad though that we don't get crazy & beautiful outfits for our performances! no standing ovations either. no one can really witness and appreciate our talents.

LeeAnn--perhaps you need to buy you some interesting and flashy loungewear and have it be your performance outfit. When I'm home I can always be found in my colorful loungepants. Designs that I have consist of: Pepsi Cola, Stewie from Family Guy, Dr Pepper, Beer Nuts, a pair that has tons of small horse shoes on them, a pair with chili peppers all over them; the list goes on and on, i'm sure you get the picture.
I expect a standing ovation from everyone who happens to be in my house at the time after my 'performance', and if I've had to perform longer than usual I expect cash! $$$$$
Kidding of course about the cash, though its a darned good idea!
