  • My Hair!!!!!!

I let my friend dye my hair!!!!! It was supposed to be black with red chunks....It turned out medium brown with a fushia headband!! I mean its REALLY bad!!! I've never gotten too upset about my hair before, figured it would always grow out of it, but all day today I just felt like crying! Its horrible.

I'm so sorry! I've had botched dye jobs before too. I'm a natural redhead, but I put some dye in it that had a purple hue to it, my entire HEAD turned bright purple. I had to go spend over 100.00 at the salon to have it fixed! I hope you are able to fix it with a different box of color....maybe skip the chunks for the salon?! I'm really sorry!! I totally can relate!

My bowel ruptured, I almost died from peritonitis and spent several days in the ICU then more in a private room on the floor. If you have any questions about severe constipation from pain meds please don't hesitate to send me a message.

Oh hey, I've been there before myself - and I did it to myself, no one to blame! I tried to give myself the really blond highlights, looked simple enough on the box, oh my. Disaster! I looked like my calico cat! Same colors, orange, yellow, browns - it didn't lift evenly - and the uneveness would be on the same strand! It looked varigated! ARGH!! I popped it into a ponytail and high-tailed it to Kmart, and bought some of that temporary color stuff (like the kind that washes out in 28 shampoos, etc) in a red - and I ended up with the neatest hair, lol. Everyone thought I had it professionally done, because it turned out to have the red red highlights, lol. Even hubby liked it!

Have you thought of any options to correct it now that shock is wearing off? Or you could be a trendsetter and tell everyone that's EXACTLY what you wanted? Like I did the time I had purple/red hair (it was a burgundy color, and yep, I looked like I soaked my head in wine, lol)....

Since I dyed it Wednesday and Thursday, I'm not too sure how good another dye job will be for my hair-I've fried it before and that's not hot either! Think I'll just pick up the darkest dye I can find and hope it covers it; and some really good conditioner! Mike came home and I told him how much I hate it and he tried to lie, but I told him he didn't have to be nice-I know how bad it is-and he admitted that its not exactly flattering. Yikes! This is just really uncool! To make it all better, we're going with some friends tomorrow to the city for a night on the town! People will probably think I'm the restaurant entertainment! It's be perfect if I took up juggling-lol!

Hey Leah, that's why I chose the temporary stuff - nothing to hurt the hair, and it actually helped condition the straw I had created, lol.

There's some stuff called Roux or something like that, which is a wash-out thing like Tracey mentioned. It's not permanent and shouldn't harm your hair. I used it when I let my dyed hair grow out and it looked just fine while I was growing. Good luck!

P.S. I had purple hair one time!

LOL, purple seems to be the "in" color to try at some point, doesn't it? Yep, I once use the stuff called, "Fanci-Ful" or something like that... Oh wow, that was years ago after a botched salon highlight job, they didn't have the stays-for-28-shampoos stuff back then, lol, and it worked great...

When I first started coloring my hair a handful of years ago, (I'm suppose to be a 'dirty blonde'; anyway, wanted to be a redheaded-- turned out bright orange!!! we (my sister and I) somehow got it to be red after making 2 trips to the store for I don't know what colors- anyway, it did work out, and I've gotten so many compliments now, that it stays one shade of red or another.
                Good luck!

you need to get some 20 volume cream peroxide from a beauty store. put it one your hair that was frosted, let it set for 15 or 20 minutes, this will open the cuticle to absorb another color. DO NOT RINSE, Then you will put the color in that you want to use. You will have to get a color that is the same as your hair or darker. other then that you will have to strip your hair with color remover. I do not suggest that it is worse then bleach and your hair will be straw.. (if it is of any help I was a licensed cosmetologist and teacher b4 IC)
                  good luck

another option is to use the color with out the peroxide only on hair you want to cover. this will stain it. the problem with that is it is not a sure thing once you wash it.

I once tried a hair color that turned my hair fire engine red! Honest to god, true story. DH ran to the drugstore to get hair color removed and a box of my regular color. Bless his soul. It could have been scary.

I have red hair, so bleachin it blonde it really difficult for some reason. you have to make sure you strip all ther red out.. and never, never use any type of color that has a green base.. if you do, you will have a lovely color shade of green......

Well, I'm in the process right now of trying to dye it back dark brown. Hoping it takes, I can still see a little red peaking through. Guess I'll know for sure in 30mins!!!
