Oh, Sandy, you did raise a great kid, and you are still raising two more. So now he's a good man. What a gift -- from you to the world. Be proud. I'm impressed!

My daughter is growing up fast, and I only hope she'll do as well! Hmm, well, she does play the cello. Maybe that's a good sign!

Thanks everyone! I'm just so happy things are working out the way we'd all dreamed they'd be for him. One kid down, 2 to go! LOL

When I read your post it warmed my heart. It's so nice that you like the g/f. It doesn't always happen that way. I love to watch proud parents watch their children. I always have a bird's eye view at school. Pride in your children is one of the great gifts of parenthood. May it continue. If he plays the cello then he must be a good boy. Music is a great major.
I'm sorry now that I didn't major in music. My mother suggested it, but I didn't bite. May your son be successful and I hope he feels better

Aaawwww, she sure does sound nice. To take care of him while he is sick. Hey, you are a great mom to him so he turned out to be a great guy. She is lucky to have found him too. You're as proud as a peacock and I do not blame you.

Sandy- So happy for you! You have every right to be proud of your son.
Sorry your son is sick, happy that he has someone to take care of him. Its a plus that you like his girl friend!!

My kids are 18 and 22, they live at home and go to work/school; one has a couple of GF's (the youngest) the eldest is too busy with work/school to be bothered with the girls).

**sniffle** **sniffle** This stuff just kills me! I can empathize so much because I know my time will be coming in a few years, and I know it is going to tear me up too. It just goes with the territory when you are a Mother. I don't think we ever quit worrying about them, no matter how old they are. They are always our babies.

I am so glad that you like his girlfriend. It is so important for him that the women in his life get along.

I know I will be a mess when the day comes that Collin leaves home. It has got to be hard on a Mother. Especially when they are sick and you cant be there. I think it is great that he has someone to look after him and take care of him while he is away. I know that it is killing you not to be there right now, but I think it is so great that his GF is taking such good care of him.

But dont forget that you still have a very important patient to look after right now, one that means more to him than anyone else in the world.....you! I know he wants you to use all those nursing skills and mothering skills to take care of yourself and get to feeling better.

Sending big hugs your way from one mother to another,
    Amy

My college son just called me

and he's in love....I met his girlfriend over the Christmas break and I'm SO pleased that he's got such a sweet, kind girl that looks out for my baby boy up at school. Apparently they've stepped over that line and told each other they love the other. My son, Todd, has been sick all week with some bug that the entire school is passing around, and he called me today to tell me that he was fine, Alley was taking care of him like a mom. He knows how to make me feel better!

I've been so worried about him. First time away from home, and knew he would inevitably be sick. So, he's got a pretty, and sweet girl to 'mother' him for me, and I just couldn't be happier.

He's the lead cellist in the orchestra and the chamber orchestra at college, and he's doing this as a FRESHMAN, beat out the grad students and everything for that lead chair. He went to college on a full ride, academic/music scholarship!! :woohoo:

I'm just bursting with pride....crying a little too. Ok, crying a lot! I raised a good kid!
Working...
