  • What's the point anymore?

I FINALLY got a rheumatologist appt for March 26th. This guys is supposed to be good, according to the dummy at the doctor's office. She probably has no idea what a rheumatologist even does. I'm just so fed up...they can't find my labs, so I don't know what the lupus studies showed. They finally told me my CT scan was "negative" but I don't really know what it's negative for and neither do they. I know something is up there that HURTS a whole lot, and I am pretty sure I'm not imagining this huge scab that comes out like clockwork every 3 days....but my CT is...NEGATIVE.

It's all making me very annoyed and angry. What is the point of going to see a rheumatologist who is going to tell me what all the other rheumy's and neuros and GP's told me. They don't KNOW what's wrong with me.

Really having a rough day around here. I'm either crying or angry. I want something done about my sinuses, but I have to find my OWN ENT or allergy specialist because I guess since there's nothing to be seen on the CT, it has to be something r/t allergies.

I'm rambling, but I'm so TIRED...ya know? I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired, and don't see the point of going to see a doctor who isn't going to be the magic one who tells me THIS is what's wrong with you Sandy.

The only doctor that can probably help me a little might be an ENT....IF they can even help me at this point. I guess my entire nose has to scab over for them to take me seriously.

Sorry, I don't usually have such a negative attitude, but this all has just gotten to me badly today.

Oh cripes Sandy, you have definitely had the run-around haven't you? There's got to be a dang copy of your labs somewhere , right? I mean, the lab doesn't keep any records? Now with the digital age, I would think they could just look you up and print another copy! Oooooh I don't blame you for being peeved and fed right up! ARGH! It's like "Hellooooooo people- does this nose seem NORMAL to you? Would you like to have something causing you terrible pain in YOUR sinuses??" Oops, looks like I ranted there right with ya, but dang it - that just ticks me off!!

Sending you tons of squishy hugs and lots of margaritas!!!!!!!
    Hugs,

Thanks everyone...and a day early Tracey! I'm just so irritated with all of this. I don't understand why it has to be so complicated when all I wanted was my labs and my appt with the rheumy and of course the CT results.

I'm sick of having negative or borderline test results. I don't want there to be something 'wrong', but I want to have an answer for once in my life.

So....I guess I'll go in search of a good ENT before the pollen season gets here and my head flat out explodes from the pressure! Maybe they'll find my labs before it's time to go to the rheumy in March. Doubt it...they did mention I may have to have them redrawn.

            Sandy,
WOW! I can't believe that your doc's office lost some of your records, only tell you the CT was "negative," etc. I am sure they are frustrated, but how do they think you feel? I think sometimes docs forget that...when they get frustrated because they can't figure out what's going on and they want to just give up, they forget that there is a real person behind that chart...someone with a family, a life, and a need for the right treatment.

I hope that you can find the right doctor very soon. You obvoiusly need someone more cutting edge, someone that will look beyond the obvious to really figure out what is going on.

And don't worry about venting and not being positive..you deserve to vent and be down right now, that's okay! Who wouldn't be angry and frustrated in your situation? Just don't give up, you will find the right doc and get on the right treatment path soon!

What a royal pain in the you know where!! I am so sorry. Ughhhhh.....

Donna's right though; it's amazing the difference a day can make. I know it won't change your lost lab work, etc, but... maybe something great will happen
