  • Do I stink???

Ok, all day on and off I have been smelling cat pee. Nothing smells outside around the house or on the porch where the liter box is. Just in the house. So, the smell must be me???? Gee, I really am turning into the lady. I've heard sometimes owners take on the look of the pet they have but never have I heard they take on their smell! (P.S.--I did take a bath)

    HAHAHAHA!!!!!

This has happened to me once. It was actually the lady in the next cubicle, who happens not to bathe. I smelled my jacket-cats love to pee on jackets and my shoes-notorius for this too. I swear they aspire to stink more than there owners. At any rate I was paranoid all day. I got up at my desk for about the 30th thime to pee, and she was in the bathroom. I figured it out real quick it was her!

LOL, omg, thanks for the giggle on that one, You could be overly-fearful of the smell invading your space that you are imagining it? LMAO!! Oh just being silly here, lol. If you have checked everywhere though, and found nothing...it probably is nothing.... (I hope *giggle*)

Oh that reminds me the time a skunk decided to spray under the house one time - oh my gosh, it was so strong it woke me up from a sound sleep!! All the next day I smelled like skunk - everyone else said it must just be me as they couldn't smell it, I personally think they were just being kind!!! LOL

Oh and Erika - I used to work in an insurance office and had to keep air freshening spray in my desk as some of clients were, um a bit lax in bathing ( I would wait until they left, though, lol). I mean, shoot, you can only roll your chair so far away and still fill out the forms - my arms aren't that long!! LMAO!!!

Way back when I was getting DMSO instills I went to some event with a friend. As soon as I got into her car, I mentioned that I had been at the uro's that day and she replied, "I know - I can smell it." (For any newbies: DMSO makes you smell like nasty garlic for a day or two after it's instilled.) Fortunately, she is a close friend, so it didn't bother me too much, but it was at the point when I no longer noticed the smell. I worried about what other people weren't telling me!

We all could use long arms at some point and nose clips.
I wasn't imagining it. This is how my day went. Got up, fed Patches, let her out, cleaned the liter box. Came in got the bird food, went out and filled all the feeders. Came in and the whole downstairs smelled like cat pee. I sprayed everything with my Febreeze and used the air fresherner in the bathroom. After 1 1/2 hours the smell went away. Then later on it was back again and the worse is in this room. I'm typing this with a gas mask on. I found out what is causing it. My brother!! He refuses to use deodorant and his coat hangs in here so that is why it stinks in here. I'm typing and may pass out from the fumes. I keep telling him he stinks but he says he doesn't. Never smelled like cat pee before but the bathroom after he left his cloths in the hamper would smell awful. Had to get the cloths washed and sometimes I had to wash his shirts twice to get the smell out.

Tracey, we have a whole herd of skunks here. Always getting skunked under the front porch which goes through the house. Of course the skunk out in the woods too which carries into the house with the wind. the worse part is during the summer they get under my vehicle and spray. No one elses vehcile just mine. I'm so thankful they think of me. :woohoo: It was so bad one time I told the nurses and my Uro if I smell like skunk the car was sprayed. Thank goodness it was good weather and I could have the window down.

Pingpong, I keep reading people saying they smelled like garlic after the DSMO. I had it done a few times and couldnt' smell anything. Good to have a true blue friend like yours.

I think your caT may be in competition with you brother to be the stinkiest...Maybe kitty smelled your brothers clothes, noticed ho offensive they were, and then tried to top him by peeing on them. Or maybe kitty thought if he peed on them, it would make them smell better...hehehe

Oh Mary, that's just too funny! And to think, we all were thinking it was kitty!! I'm with Erika, that cat probably thought, "Oh my gosh, I gotta do something about this, they don't make clothespins for kitty noses!!!!"

However, I am glad you found the "source"!! YAY!!! :woohoo:

It's following me through out the house. His coat is hanging in the laundry room now. I need to wash coats today (to save the ozone layer) or at least febreeze them to death.

That's a great way to start my day but laughing! That's funny. Boys are sooooo stinky! Yuck. Doesn't he realize he smells? gross!

That reminds me of what happened last night at my girlfriends house. We were watching out favorite tv show The Hills and I gotten a really raunchy whoof of somthing that smelled nasty. I looked at Amanda and said "eww did you fart?" she said "I know right, no, did you?" I said no... on the commercial we got up and started sniffing for this horrible smell. Amanda got on her hands and knees and looked under the dinning room table. Her dog had taken the biggest poopie ever and it smelled HORRIBLE!!!! So bad I started gagging!!!! Thank god our show had just ended b/c I left that house so fast!!!! LOL I guess you had to be there.

LOL, that's hilarious Rachel! It reminds me of my BIL - he had to clean up an "accident" during the day while my SIL was at work. Ok, she comes home and lets the dogs out and comes back in and asks him which one of the dogs got sick??? He replied it wasn't any of the dogs it was him for having to clean up the poop! LMAO!! Oh gosh help them when they have kids!!!!!!!

I use to work with a lady many years ago, who had a mental condition and NEVER EVER TOOK A BATH (or so it seems). She would come around to my area because the coffee pot and filing cabinets was over my my desk, her odor was so bad that it made me sick. I really couldn't tell her so I told our boss somehow she listened to him and the next few days she would be fresh smelling. But after awhile, the smell came back. The janitor who was a friend of mine, gave me a can of air freshner said use it! so I did after each and every time she came by!

Someone else mentioned the DMSO, I always did this near the end of the work day, because you do smell like garlic (you can't smell it but others did) well, one time I did this during the middle of the day- went back to work) and someone who didn't really know me said they smelt garlic and finally came near me - I really didn't say anything, but a co-worker said that it was me and it was some sort of a treatment that I go thru (I don't remember - but she was very pleasant about it). Never again, though did I go in the middle of the day for this!!
