My hair grows really slow... It always has. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried taking vitamins to promote the hair growing faster. I've found some vitamins online but I'm wondering if they work. What do you think?

Petrie my love, They do work. Try gelitan capsules or the oil of olay set. Just make sure everything in the set is bladder friendly I can't remember. They also have other brands of these things in the vitamin isle.

      Erika,

You've used them before?? I just bought something called Hair Nutrition Vitamins... Here is the ingredients. I dont know if this is bladder friendly. But I will find out. I hope it works.

      Niacin 40mg
      Folic Acid 400mcg
      Vitamin B-12 6mg
      Biotin 600mcg
      Pantothenic Acid 92mg
      Iodine 100mcg
      Zinc Oxide 20mg
      Manganese Gluconate 10mg
      Chlorophyll 30mg
      Para Amino Benzoic Acid 30mg

I haven't figured out how to grow my hair long. It's a little longer than my shoulders. Everytime I go to my hair dresser to get it cut she tells me to come every 3 months which I do. It seems as though she cuts off what I grow. It always stays the same length. Annoying! lol

        Biotin!

Hello there! I have wondered the same thing for a while, taken all different supplements for hair, skin, nails. Particularly, after I began losing large amounts of my already thin hair from the Elmiron. Personally, I have been most successful with just the Biotin supplements. They even have it at the vitamin shoppe in shampoo and conditioner forms. Biotin. Other formula's I find indeed have I.C. UNfriendly elements. Hope this helps.

Status: Diagnosed October 2006 via cystoscopy with hydrodistention. Max anesthetized bladder capacity only 250 cc's. Mast cells and pinpoint bleeding found.

Remission for me means less pain for more days than not. Frequency is inevitable with a bladder this tiny! That is ok though. The difference between when I was diagnosed and now, is that I have embraced that fact. Me and the loo, we are one.

I haven't had any hair loss on the Elmiron yet. (knock on wood) but just I would like my hair to grow at a faster pace. that would be nice.

I tried differnt pills with no results. Have been using the rogaine for woman and that seems to do it. I have the alopecia and this is the only thing that seems to help me.

My best results have been from Biotin. I take about 2-3,000mcgs. daily. Also added extra protein to my diet. Another suggestion.... I use only shampoo without sodium laureth/laurel sulfate. You can purchase various kinds at a health food store. They don't lather as well, but I found that I didn't lose as much hair after a shampoo. Hope this helps... liz

                    I have the perfect solution

You'll have to excuse my sense of humor this morning.....

I have found that if I want my hair to grow really really fast, all I have to do is spend over $100 on a perm --- believe me, it will grow out in two months! ....and if I want it to grow, it just sits there and won't grow.

On a more serious note, you might want to get your hair trimmed a little less often, maybe wait four months instead of three?

                    Hugs,
                    Donna

Lol Yea that's how it usually goes. The more money you spend on your hair the more the hair grows, always when you dont want it too!! I tried letting it grow and waiting like 4 months to cut my hair. But my hair dresser yells at me b/c then my ends are split and unhealthy so she cuts it all of anyways. Maybe it's time to get a new hair dresser??
I'm gunna give this vitamin thing a shot... I'm not losing any hair from Elmiron i just want really long hair and i cant get it to grow fast enough to do it! haha
