  • Need VOTES to win yard MAKEOVER! Please help!

:woohoo: I am so excited as I was chosen as a finalist in a local yard makeover contest. But I need your votes to win. Also a plus for voters is the chance to win $250 in cash for yourself. So we both could be winners!

    I am #2.

I hate the picture that the newspaper took. She got way too far back to show how bad it really looks. But I promise you it does look far worse then the photo implies. We recently added on to the house as you can tell by the brick difference and there isn't even grass growing along that edge of the house, well maybe some weeds And my flower bed boxes are falling over and starting to rot.

Now that I've embarrassed myself by letting you know how bad I've let my yard get. I'm sure many of you can relate as I can't get out and do much yard work since the bladder disease took over my life. I'd so love to have some pretty flowers to look at when I sit on my front porch rocking chair. I beg for your time to vote for me! You can vote daily till the 21st. Many thanks!
    ~Laura

I just went and voted for you too. It said that we can vote once a day. But, if you have more than one email address, you could vote once a day with each address. I will vote more if I can remember. Hopefully, when I see your name on here, it will prompt me to remember. Good luck! I hope you win!

      Hugs,
      Amy

        I placed my vote...

for you. I hope you win. It makes you feel good when something nice happens to you...esp. when that something is a yard makeover!!!! I used to do alot of gardening, but haven't been able to for over a year. Speaking of yards....I am so mad. We have a racial prejudice in our neighborhood going on. I was floored this morning when I saw a sign in an elderly couples' yard that says "Yard of the Month". The reason I'm sooo mad is that there is a family across the street who work very hard on their landscaping and flowers. The whole family gets out there and keeps everything impeccable! It's gorgeous. The yard that 'won' has almost nothing in it. The couple who live there have a yard service come every 2 weeks to cut their grass, put in pine straw, etc.. and they don't have ANY flowers. I'm mad for the family across the street, because they actually WORKED in their yard, but I hate to say, some people in our neighborhood are racist and the family who has the beautiful yard just moved here about 2 years ago from Central America. If you could see these two yards and compare, you would see exactly what I'm talking about. It makes me sooooo mad. I want to make a sign for that nice family that says "Most Beautiful Yard of the Month" and put it in their yard. They probably wouldn't accept it. It has to hurt them though, to know that they are being 'shut out'. I still can't believe it. I'm going to call the neighborhood president (or whoever takes care of this stuff) and make a complaint. I can't believe people act this way.

        UGH~
