  • Dreaming of vacation far, far away...

So this is just one of those weeks where everywhere I turn something is going wrong. Nothing major, just one little thing after another. First I made a couple of work-related mistakes - nothing major, but enough to cause a few very tiny waves. Today I lost my Blue Tooth headset somewhere in my parents' car (which I had borrowed while mine was in the shop) and none of us can find it. I decided to treat myself to a caffeine-free diet Coke at lunch (which I can get away with once in a while) and spilled the drink as I was paying. Fortunately the cashier jumped out of the way just in time and was super nice about it.

Anyway, I could go on, but you get the picture. So now I"m dreaming of vacation far, far away. I'm exhausted, stressed and have PMS. I'm just waiting for the bladder to kick in and make the week perfect.

But for now I'm dreaming of being on a warm beach somewhere, soaking in some sun (which, of course, won't burn my skin or cause sun poisoning like in real life!), listening to the waves, reading a great book and drinking a cherry Coke (which, of course, won't hurt my bladder like in real life!). Anyone want to join me?

Sounds grand. Today's fantasy vacation for me I think would be a day in Manhattan-- shopping in the morning (no spending limit, hey this IS fantasy), afternoon in a museum, & a show in the evening...

Can I go on this vacation all by myself and not feel lonely or nervous about being alone? Sunshine, shopping with wonderful sales at every store, every food I dream about and no children to bug me. Just getting to do what I want to do when I want to do it. Sounds wonderful.

Of course you can go with no nervousness. This is a fantasy vacation after all!

I forgot one thing - I'd also love to have a relaxing massage for all my aching muscles. I think I'd spend the first couple of days alone to completely unwind and then like to spend the rest of the vacation with my hubby along. He makes me laugh like no one else, which is always fun on vacation! Of course, being a fantasy vacation, we wouldn't have any of the usual vacation mishaps. (We ran out of gas on our honeymoon, lost our car keys in Lake Michigan, got carbon monoxide poisoning, etc. We always say that for us on vacation, you never know what you're going to get, but you're guaranteed to have an adventure!)

I'm game! Today, I'd like to be in Paris, with unlimited funds to spend of course! I'd like to be able to eat whatever I please. Yummy baguettes and cheese of all kind. Coffee too!

I'd like to be wandering the Serengeti right about now. Nothing but me, a mate and 60000 kilometers of open land inhabited by wildebeasts, gazelles, zebra, mongoose, hawks, hyena, leopards, lions, cheetahs, etc etc etc....what an adventure!

Good ideas! Though I'm not sure about roaming with wild animals. I think I'm too much of a nervous Nelly. BUt, then again since this is a dream, I'll assume I'm brave. Bring it on!

OK, no vacation, but the good news is that my dad found my headset in their car today. My mom and I both looked a couple of times each and somehow missed it. He checked this evening and found it.

Hopefully that means this week will be better. Hubby is having some tests tomorrow, so I'm hoping for a much better week all around!

(Though I'd still love to be somewhere warm with the ocean or lake around...)
