So I went to my first concert...ever...yesterday.
My friend called me up Saturday night and asked if I wanted to go to see Tobymac (a Christian singer) in concert Sunday night. At first I thought I would just say no becuase I never thought concerts were my "thing". But last minute I decided to go an boy am I glad I went.
The concert was at a local (well, a half hour away) church. I thought it would be like super small kinda cheesy. But it was HUGE there were a few hundred people packed into pews and charis.
Thousand Foot Krutch and another band, who's name escapes me, opened for Tobymac and I really liked TFK and Tobymac WAY more than I thought I would. TFK and the other band was very heavy metal/rock and Tobymac was rock/R&B.
I spent like 30 minutes in my seat, sort of in the back. Then, after using the bathroom (which had a MASSIVE wait) I got up the guts and went by the front of the stage with my friends (where a large group of people were standing) and I was like 8 feet away from the preformers and 2 feet away from the speakers.
Everytime we would leave the concert area to potty or get something to drink, we would sound like chipmunks for some reason. Needless to say, being that close to speakers for 3 hours didn't help our hearing. I still can't hear out of my left ear and my right one feels like there's cotton in it. I also lost my voice from all the screaming. But it was AWSOME and so worth it!!!! My friend surrprised me and got me Tobymac's (portable sound) CD (a very late b-day gift). And I got myself a Thousand Foot Krutch poster and wrist band and a Tobymac wristband (I have a thing for wristbands incase no one figured that out :P).
Anyway, thought I would share this because after being dx'ed with IC I NEVER thought I would beable to go out and have fun like I did last night.
