  • Husband taking me out to dinner for birthday

My husband called me earlier today and said how would I like to go out to dinner tonight? "I said as long as it doesn't have a drive in window!!-- He said he wanted to take me out tonight for my birthday which is tomorrow - actually the whole family is as everyone is off tonight- which is a rarity in my family usually at least my eldest son is working late. Anyway we are going to go to this Mexican restuarant that we know that I can eat at without any problems. Haven't been out to a nice place in a long time. Can't wait to go.

:woohoo: Sounds great, one of my favorite foods is Mexican.
      Christine

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

Proud wifey of Shane, mommy to Griffin, and step-mom to Logan and Gage
Also proud mom to the best Bullmastiff on earth, Claus

How can you eat at a Mexican restaurant? I've had ic for a year and only eat very bland foods.

Everyone is different. I personally don't seem to be very diet sensitive and I just take some Prelief when I eat Mexican food, and don't get anything too spicy and I'm fine.

To Skowal: There is only one place in town that I can eat Mexican food at - and only one item- its their cheese ench. I also can eat a handful of their chips and sauce; but no margrita! Have to stick with an ice tea. I'm not that diet sensitive like a lot of folks and I do take prelief with me.
We have tried other Mexican Restuarants in the past and forget it! within a few bites of their food and I'm in pain; and its the samething that I eat at this place.

We all had a nice time, its not too often that we all get to go out, as like I said earlier, every one of us works different shifts so this was a rarity for us.

This morning my Mom called me and wish me a happy birthday but she said its not my birthday yet -- said I'm not 47 till 8:08p.m. tonight so I really can't celebrate till then!
