  • Snow!!!

We've got SNOW in Texas!! I know all you guys up north and on the east coast are sick of it, but, for us it's like a big winter blanket!!! Big flakes of snow outside, my heating pad and doggie, and a huge pot of IC safe beef stew cooking on the stovetop. (Extra points because I haven't gotten sick since 6 yesterday morning). I hope everybody has a happy, pain free Sunday!

      Wellll....

My husband is from Michigan and we've spent many frozen, snowy, shovel the driveway Christmases there so, I'll pass on all your snow and just enjoy my little bit. Then I'll enjoy it later this week when it gets up to 60. Sorry.

I grew up in Nebraska so snow is nothing new to me --- and I DON'T like it! We haven't had any in my area yet, but it looks like we might get some later in the week.

Your snow is heading our way! It is sleeting in GA right now and will be here during the night. We had a lot of snow over Christmas, this one looks more like ice, which I absolutley hate! That is when you lose power and all that other fun stuff. We were all good southerners and bombarded all the grocery stores yesterday and today. The local hardware store sold over 200 sleds since Friday! Me, I will look at it out my window, where I am nice and cozy. The only snow I like is the kind I can ski or tube on. These days I can't even do that!

Yeah, we had a ton of rain last night then about 3 in of snow and it's getting down to about 19 overnight. Looks like ice for us too. Even my Michigander DH doesn't like to drive in the ice, so I see us staying home and enjoying an unexpected long weekend!! Good times if you don't have to go out. And I don't!!
And luckily, we live kind out in the boondocks, so we have a propane tank. So if the electric goes out we still have heat!! Good luck to you guys, looks like you're getting the worst of it.

We have a fireplace, but no other heat if the power goes off. The last time we had a power outage, we moved into our motor home so I could cook.

I want summer --- and I want it NOW! (I say that every January, February, and March )

Katie: Like you it doesn't snow all that often in Austin (last year was the first time in over 5 years).
I work for the state and my boss just sent an e-mail out to all of us saying that our staff in the Dallas area will be opening their offices later than normal because of the snow.
Last week all the weather stations were getting excited saying that we are going to have a cold front for about a week (lows in the teens's or 20's) and cool weather. It petered out in regards to the early morning lows except for one night which is tomorrow night but other than that its just plain old cold. I am like Donna I want summer now - its too cold for my bones. Of course I will be saying I want Winter when its 100 degrees or hotter too. Oh well, can't win.

                            Don't get me wrong!!!

I love summer!! But by the time August rolls around and it's been over 100 for the majority of the time since May and will be until sometime in October, snow is a welcome sight!! But having the cover off my pool and floating around out there will be welcome by the time that rolls around!! I guess there really IS a reason for the seasons!! Just makes you appreciate what's coming!!
