  • What movies have you seen recently?

Don't know if anyone started a thread of movies that they have seen recently. I wanted to make a post about it.

I saw Rango last weekend and it was ok. Not something that I will see again or get the DVD of it. I do want to see Source Code and African Cats this month.

We watched Due Date last night on DVD and laughed out loud, a lot. I really liked it. We also saw Fair Game, did not like it at all.

I've been wanting to Rent Leap year, but hadn't heard anything about it. Some romatic comedies are so slow and predictable. Glad to hear it was good.
I liked Social Network. It's the only movie I've seen in a while. I also saw Easy A actually and it was ok.
I want to take my son to see a movie. He's almost 3. It would have to be something that could really hold his attention though.

Well with a potential Fed Govt shutdown, I may be watching more movies than normal. But it depends IF they do shut down and for however long. If it does shut down I just hope for one day. But no one knows. I won't get paid for however long the Fed Gov will shut down.

These days I'm mainly watching dvds at home. I just saw "A Good Year" and liked it, romantic comedy. "The Aviator" was good, but very glad I watched it on dvd - 3 hour movies are much better to watch at home.

I haven't really had time to go and see a movie in a long time. I usually get a few at Christmas and other special occassions. Out of the 4 that I got in the last few months there was only 1 that really held my interest.
I really want to go see HOP that seems cute. Whether I do so or not, now that is another story.

Anna: I am right behind you there on the shutdowns. I work for the state and they are talking about a lot of options one is 3 day furloughs a month! that will do serious damage to a lot of employees; that or our insurance will be going up as to where we have to pay a percentage of our payments. (right now they pay for 100% for employees and 50% for families BUT like a lot of government agencies we haven't received a pay raise in years so again this will hurt us just as bad.
I might be watching a lot of movies (my youngest son has a huge collection and I have meant to watch them but never get a chance-but I might get to after the session is over.

                      movies

                      Hi,
We've been getting Netflix,(I also prefer to watch movies at home, near my bathroom)!
At the moment we are working our way through several seasons of "Mad Men" while waiting for "Secretariat" to become available. The last actual movie we saw, if I recall, was "Social Network", which I thought was pretty good.
Re the governemnt shut down, it is IMHO, all just politcs as usual. I would go further, but this isn't the forum for that, I don't think, so I will keep my big mouth shut! I will say that I feel bad for any of you who would be hurt by the shutdown, if it happens. Seems in the past, an agreement has always been reached at the 11th hour so maybe that will happen again.

I don't get shut downs either. Do we blame both parties? Or is just one party causing this issue?

Please remember that we don't do political discussions on the forums.

I think my favorite movies --- ones that I watch over and over are:
Chicago --- I do love the music in that one; Mamma-mia --- again for the music; and Sound of Music.

I saw Source Code today and enjoyed it. I generally like suspenseful movies that I can completely lose myself in. Recently, we got a Roku box that works with Netflix and you get the movies streaming through there and don't have to wait for the DVD to arrive. We love it! Oh, and on Pay per View, I watched Unstoppable. Wow, I about held my breath the whole way through. Everybody really liked that one.
