  • I found my breeder YEAH!!!

I have been looking for the perfect breed and breeder for me for a while now. I decided after a lot of research on a newfoundland. Then the hard part come of finding the breeder. Luckly i knew a few newfie breeders. It is very important to find the right breeder to get a healthy happy puppy. I picked a breeder that lives in Ohio. I will have to have my puppy shipped to me but that is ok for my piece of mind for a healthy happy puppy. The litter want be breed for about another year or so but that is great for me. This breeder is great so great to answer any of my questions on anything i have. She truly loves her dogs. My female dog has her heart cleared, Hips cleared and something else i cant remember now lol. I will be signing a contract with her which i actually like personally. I cant give her name out over the thing but if anyone is looking for a newfoundland she seems great.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I bet youre counting down the days till your furry baby comes to his forever home. When I was looking into getting our Siberian cat, my husband and I looked into quite a number of breeders. Its really important to find a good one that you can have a relationship with even well after your baby is home. I call our breeder every now and then to check up on things the vets tell me. Its always good to be able to find second opinions.

How exciting. Post pictures when he's born.

A friend of mine has 2 Newfies (and a papillon!) and they're marvelous dogs. The male weighs 170 pounds and the female is 150 pounds, and when the two of them come lumbering into a room they pretty much fill it up!

They're adorable dogs!! We talked about getting one before we decided on our Australian Shepherd. Congratulations! A year seems like a long time to wait, I'm not that patient! LOL Sounds like you've thought all this out and will give the puppy a great home!

Congratulations! I can not tell you how much I adore Newfie's. I had a Rotti for 10 years (Sadly, had to put him down) and always said I wouldn't mind getting a newfie. Have a ball with them--they are great dogs. They are so lovable. I always stop one when I see one. The owners ALWAYS look at me like I have two heads. I get "everyone is so afraid of him/her" that just makes me giggle.

I just love animals! It touches my heart to hear how much you have researched and studied the breed. Finding a good breeder is also very impressive. It makes me so happy that this dog will have such a great life with you!

I actually have a 3yr old male rottweiler mix now. So it want be my first dog I have lots of experience with giant dogs. Newfies are extremly rare around here i think i will have the only one at my vets office. I have locked long and hard and just feel in love with them. They look so much like teddy bears i think lol

Jessied: They do look like a giant teddy bear. Make sure you socialize him/her. That is HUGE factor, especially in a big dog. I just want to squish there face...they are so lovable. I'm jealous! AND you have a rotti mix...good for you! we are thinking of getting two new dogs. My husband wants another Rotti, I am not sure what I want. I really miss not having a dog. They are the BEST.

Well after a lot of careful conceduration I decided to got to the shelter. I spoke with my breeder about my choice. She was great about it and told me send her pics when i get my puppy and she will see what she can do for her. Which i thought was GREAT. Our shelter was telling me( i give donations a lot) that large breed puppies espically the "killer dogs" DONT get homes. I think they said if a entire litter of puppies come in ONE MIGHT get a home. Personally I LOVE Rottweilers and Pit bulls so i am just going to give a dog who WOULDNT get a home a home. I already have a Rottie Mix so i know that they need a special hand to not be aggressive and know i can do it. Just thought i would let you know

I think what you're doing is wonderful!! It's very kind of you to go to the shelter to pick out a dog who otherwise wouldn't have a chance for a nice home. We need more people out there like you!
