I meant to add that...the vinegar helps a lot. Then your house tends to smell like cole slaw for a while, but it's better than the alternative. I'll have to try the baking soda!

I can hopefully answer this. It's most likely anxiety from having the new cat in the house. My cat, fatty is a male, and he's fixed, but from day one of moving into our new house he started spraying. He makes ME CRAZY!!! I've got the cleaner out all the time too. My vet was supposed to give me some kitty anxiety pills for him and he forgot, and so did I til I came home and saw he'd sprayed the wall by the door. The best thing I can tell you is to talk to the vet and see if anything is wrong with his urinary tract, otherwise he's probably upset over the new cat.

I think I would have him checked out by the vet just to be certain. It could be that he got just a tiny bit. If you didn't save all cans, you can't be sure. It doesn't sound like he did, but I wouldn't take any chances.

    Urine Problem with old cat

    Hey Everyone,

As some of you know I got a little kitten who isn't so little anymore about a month ago, and I guess I didn't notice until yesterday, after my husband pointed it out, that his closet smelled like cat pee. Also as I was sitting at my computer all of a sudden I heard what sounded like my cat going, and it was but he was behind the couch. I freaked out. He is a 20 year old Tabby, and he has seen better days, but is still eating, walking, and talking so I'm not ready to put him down yet, which I know I'll have to do soon, and it is killing me, but this peeing everywhere thing is sudden. When I brought Sobie home 4 years ago he marked all over the house so I'm thinking that is what he is doing except this time his control over his peeing is not so good so he's completely emptying his bladder outside the box. I thought maybe his was going senile, but he knows to follow me downstairs to eat, and where his water dishes are etc... so I don't think it's that. I went to Petsmart today, and bought Feliway which is suppose to relieve their anxiety and help them get back to using the box. I went and bought a Bissell Green Machine, and spent the whole friggin' night cleaning my carpets in my husbands closet, and behind our downstairs couch (GRRRRRR). I sprayed with a special solution that is suppose to eliminate the odor, but I could still smell it. I have cleaned up thoroughly so now it is just the lingering scent of urine which manages to get through all the cleanser that I used. (GRRRRRR) If this stuff I bought at Petsmart doesn't work I'm going to spray a mixture of vinegar and water. My night wasn't a very happy one, and then my cat puked up all his dinner which worries me too becaues he has to eat the wet food, and he ate some of the recalled brand, but it wasn't the right lot number. Of course I have thrown all the food out, and bought new stuff, but you still worry after something like this happens. Anyway thanks for listening, and sorry this is sooooo loooong. I'm worried about Tigger, and that I'll have to make that unhappy decision soon.
Working...
