  • I got a puppy!!!

Woohoo!!! I got a puppy today! She's a 4 month old Jack Russell and her name right now is Buffy. I don't know if we're going to change it or not but that was the name that my hubby's cousin gave her so we're using it for now. She is so cute and she's actually very calm so far for a Jack Russell. I am so excited, I really wanted a lap dog and now I have one. She was sleeping in my lap earlier tonight. I'll have to post some pictures tomorrow morning but by the time I got the camera out tonight she was starting to get wound up again and it was hard to get a good picture.

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

I hope you have as much fun with your Jack Russell as ours. Gracie is very loving, skittish when it comes to strangers, and a bed hog. Since the day we got her she has to sleep in the bed, under the covers and between my knees. She tortures our cat and would play with her toys all day if we would cooperate. I always call her my energizer bunny. She is also very bossy when it comes to my other dogs. They definitely have a fun personality but are terrible yappers. I wouldn't trade her for anything though.

Alright, still have to post pictures in the morning but little dogs are so cute! I just woke up to pee (what a shock!) and my step son is taking her out back real quick. She was all snuggly with me with her head in my neck, I am loving this dog! Pictures in the morning I promise, back to bed with us.

                    And here's Buffy....

Okay, I think this should work

This is the best picture that I could get of her so far and I look horrible. I took about 5 pictures of her while my hubby was holding her but in every one of them she moved and you couldn't see her face.
                    She's so cute.

My sister has a Jack Russell named Randall. He's about 7 years old now, and he's still full of energy and convinced that everyone in the world exists to play with him . And he is so smart! One day, my sister was playing tug-of-war with him while she was watching TV. Eventually, she got tired of grabbing his sopping wet rope from him and told him "no more". She tried to ignore him, but he got his rope, put it on her lap, looked right at her for about a second, grabbed the rope and ran away with it - he won that round (or so he thinks)!

He sure is a cutie!! Just the right size too for snuggling with. It's funny how they know when you want a face picture of them. They always move and you end up with a butt picture instead. I've always wanted a small dog. Ours were big. None were under 80 lbs. Nothing I could pick up and carry away. You don't look horrible but then I think I never take a good pic either. He should keep you all busy and happy!

I just love Jack's- we had one. I will warn you though- make sure she knows who is boss! Our's also liked to sleep with us under the covers- he would get overheated and his panting would wake me up! Your puppy is very cute- as for housebreaking- every time you go pee- take her out too!
