  • Dog walking tip...

OK, I had to share this.

I have been trying to take my dog for a walk more often now that the weather is nice here in the Midwest. He's a one and a half year old Lhasa Apso. Though we have a big, fenced backyard he plays in, I think he still needs structured exercise. I sure do.

That said, we went for a walk this evening. One tip for dog walking: If you're taking along a plastic grocery bag for cleaning up messes, be sure that it doesn't have a hole in it.

I won't give any more details. I'll just say, lesson learned!

I learned that lesson the hard way too! That's one luxury I allow myself. I purchase poop-bags from our local pet store. They don't have holes and they don't tear!

We get those poop bags that come in a roll, and you can attach them to the leash. I know it would be cheaper and more environmentally sensitive to re-use grocery bags (we do that when we clean up the back yard; UGH), but at least if they're attached to the leash you can't forget them! Let's just say THAT was another lesson learned the hard way.
Je vous souhaite de la joie, de la bonne santée, et tout ce qu'il y a de bon dans la vie.
Wishing you happiness and good health, and all the best out of life.

      Peace, Carolyn

        HI Stacy,
Do you watch "The Dog Whisperer"? Cesar Millan has great tips on structured exercise for dogs and other great dog tips to keep them in shape and healthy.
Our dog died last year and we sure do miss her! We hope to get another dog next year. Enjoy your time with your pets. Roxie

I'm on a very strict diet because of the IC, IBS and Gastric Bypass. I take Primal Defense Probiotics and whole food Iron.
I no longer have the awful urethral pain! I've been using MSM gel now for 4 mo. and haven't had a flare up or the urethra pain.....it's amazing stuff!!:woohoo:

Oh my gosh! We LOVE the Dog Whisperer, too! I am teaching a couple of classes at my local university right now. I even told all my students about him. They looked at me like I was crazy! Watching Cesar is part of what has motivated us to start walking our dog more. He does have a big backyard to play in, but we realize that's not enough. During the winter, we'd head to a local store that allows pets (like Pet Smart, Rural King, etc.) to walk him in there.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's learned this bag lesson the hard way. We're going to PetSmart later this weekend anyway. I'll have to get some of those bags. Sounds like they'd be worth it. We've talked about getting the ones that attach to the leash before and just haven't done it. Let's say now I'm more motivated!
