  • I'm a grandma of 4!!!!!!!

Got up this morning and stood on the plateform to call Patches. Figured the plateform was the savest place. ha Heard the box and paper crinkling so she was trying to get out. She came running expecting me to be at her food dish but I was up on the plateform. I called her, she saw me and came running up the stairs like always. Right into the kitchen wanting her food. Her sides weren't fat anymore but her tummy still was but that is the milk for the kittens. She ate 1 1/2 dishes of liver/noodles with broth. Not a full dish but 1/3 full. I left her alone and went out to feed 15, birds and hang the laundry out. Decided to be brave and see if I could get there to see how many kittens. I walked slowly over calling her. She kept trying to pop her head out but the flaps kept getting in her way. I held my hand out to her figureing one hand shredded was better then two. She sniffed it and started purring and rubbing her head on the box. So, I went over and she was like see your grandkids. Got down on the floor which wasn't easy for grandma to do and I couldn't see a thing in the box. Had to get back up but I got stuck on the slide out drawer. Finally managed to break free and got the flashlight. I saw just one. Told her there has to be more then one. Then she moved around and there were 3 more!! :woohoo: They are soooooooooooooooo cute!!!!! They look like tiny tigers and they are much bigger then what I thought they would be. Poor Patches to have 4 kitties that size in her tummy must have been awful and to think she still managed to jump. Told her I wanted pictures. Of course everytime I went to click it she would hide them on me. ha I have one picture of 2 bottoms and one picture where all four are in it but her paw is set right over them so all you can see is a kitty arm and some more butts. It's like how does she know? I'm really glad she is back to normal. I thought for sure she wouldn't want me around anymore after yesterdays growls but she wanted to be left alone that's all. She sure does want me around now. Of course, who else will kitty sit??????ha I want to stay out there all the time now but I know they need to sleep and she needs her rest too but she sure was purring away while I was out there looking at them and petting her. I"M A GRANDMA OF KITTENS!! Oh, garfield isn't the father so he rest easy about having to pay kitten support. ha There was one cat I only saw 2 times real quick and I never knew if it was a male or female. It was a male. 3 of the kittens look like Patches and one looks just like that cat. Black with gray stripes. Not sure how long she can stay in that box with them since it is so small but I won't touch them. Just her for now. Doubt she would attack me but I don't want to be that pushy Grandma type you know? ha I am so happy!! Patches is the one cat I truely love and her kittens. I never thought I would be excited over kittens. I'm so supper charged I don't know what to do now. ha
If I had cigars I would be passing them out right now. I would stand out at the road and stop each car and give them one saying I have 4 grandchildren. Now I know what parents feel like when they have a baby even if my grandchildren have 4 paws.

Thanks. I guess I can officially say she was pregnant now. All the times of yes she was no she wasn't yes she was. She does want me around the monsters now. Of course as long as she is with them. Went to check on her again this morning and she came out running. Ate more, petted her, ate, petted, ate, peed..bet that was a big relief to her, then I brushed her she ate, brushed and then seh wanted back into the box. She kept going towards the box, back to me, towards the box, back to me and then I got the hint. It was like get with it Grandma and follow. She got in the box, I petted her and she just gave me that look. She looks funny with a slim tummy again.

            Got to touch them

I went out to try and straighten up things. Need to take out the box I had put there for her to have the kittens in (which of course she didn't) and put the bigger box in its place. They won't fit in that coffee maker box for long. When I went out she came running over to me and then back to the box so back over I went. Need to get some knee pads or a younger body. This time I petted her and then she let me touch them. It was so cool. All 4 were in a pocket laying right next to other. Wanted to take a pic but I knew she would only block them so maybe after they move to the bigger box. What I don't understand the paper doesn't have any blood on it or is wet. Think she could have pulled up the good paper to put over the bad? Doesn't smell either in the box.

leelee88, I've been really wanting to keep them all but can't really have 5 cats in the house. Thought maybe I could have them live outside. I'm out in the country and I could fix them up houses in the garage. Just would need to have them all fixed for no more kittens. Not really sure that would be a good life for them but I don't really trust a stranger to take care of them the way they should. They might get thrown outside in the end from whoever takes them but I will worry when the time comes about that part. Maybe I could ship one FedEx to you.

                Us Too !!

                :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Our cat had 4 babies about 3am this morning.
They are so cute!! 3 chocolate color tabbys and 1 black.
Kitty is a good mum, she has been taking really good care of them.
The only problem is she keeps swiping our dog, there is a puppy gate between the 2 doors but I suppose kitty is worried the dog will get her babies.
We can't keep ours either, we have 4 adult cats already!!!

Congratulations to you from across the pond as they say!!

                all the best Jill x

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

                        The family

I got to hold them this afternoon. Decided her box had to be changed. They were all scrunched in one spot plus I figured paper couldn’t be all the comfy. I put the kittens in another box. She took one out right away and it on the floor with her. Some of the paper was stained but not what I thought would be. Put the sheets in and the kittens back in and Patches stood there sniffing it. She wasn’t too happy but got in away. She is happy now because she can lie down and spread out to nurse them and no one is on top of the other. I need to remember to take the camera with me. It was feeding time and one got behind her head some how and the only way to get to the food was by crawling over her face. It was funny and Patches didn’t care one bit. Garfield is the father too. Now that I have seen them up close. One (I have named Tiger….I know I’m naming them which isn’t good) has an orange patch on its head and another orange patch on its back near the rear.

Jill, congrats on the 3 little ones! Funny you mention pond. I have two of them.

Ok, once again I did the picture thing wrong.
