Hi,
I finally (for the moment) have IC under control. I don't know if you would count a couple good days as "under control," but I would given that since January, I have had NO RELIEF from symptoms.
Anyway, yesterday, I had my last nerve block/epidural with trigger point injections and I can already tell that it's working well. I have had pelvic pain and pain that made sleeping impossible. I came home after my procedure yesterday and slept about four hours. I think I would have slept all night if my husband hadn't came in to check on me and then I wanted to get up and spend some time with him.
Also, I have bladder instillations of heparin and lidocaine to do at home. My wonderful husband helps me and we have done two so far. They really seem to be working well.
My pain specialist added some valium for spasms and it makes things SO much easier.
So, I am looking forward (hopefully) to trying to travel up to see my in-laws (a 5 hour drive) soon. Maybe we'll take that in steps and go see my family (about 70 miles away) and see how I tolerate the drive.
Anyway, I just want to thank everyone here because during my worst days, I have had someone to talk to. I plan on continuing to be on this site every day or so because there are such special people here and such good information when we all share our experiences.
I guess this is the essence of a support group. This is an excellent one!
God Bless,
April
