  • Just a whine...

I decided to post this here, because I found myself laughing today when my biggest problem with IC now is this whine...

Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, I accidentally take an amitriptyline (which I take at night) instead of a hydroxyzine (which I take in the morning). This is NOT dangerous, for the record, as my dosage of amitriptyline is very low... but it's super annoying, because, as anyone who takes this will know... IT MAKES ME SO TIRED. So I just spent most of my Sunday napping, instead of cleaning the house, which I SHOULD have done. I need one of those days-of-the-week pill containers, but 29 seems super young to use one, LOL.

If I'd known 6 months ago when it seemed like my life was ending that this would be my biggest complaint about IC now, I would have been vastly relieved, so maybe this will help someone. Off to start some laundry...

I have to make myself use one of those plastic pill holders with AM/PM so I don't do the same thing. I set them up on Sunday's for the week.

Glad that is the only problem you are having now!!

Thanks for the hope! I am HOPING that I am able to say the same thing in a few months and write on here how well I am doing too.... I AM doing much better, but not where id like to be! Id be satisfied with the "whine" and I would even use one of those pill holders too! lol I am only 23! :P
        28 yrs old,

I have little to no problems now with my bladder, unless I am very stressed out, I forget to take Elmiron for a few days, or I eat or drink something that I know is a trigger...(i.e) like eating a tomato or drinking tea.... Took a long time to get here, but it IS possible to feel good again I just want people who are new to know that IT CAN get better, and for every one person who is suffering, there are hundreds of others who feel GREAT because they have control of thier IC.

What Works: Tylenol 3's, Pyridium, Elmiron (Going on 4 years now!) HOT showers!!!

Medications/ Vitamins: Elmiron-100mg 4x's daily Tylenol 3's/Advil (flaring) Vitamin D, WILD salmon oil 4x gels in the morning, Women's ONE a DAY multivitamin (the gummy kind doesn't make me flare) and PROBIOTICS!

Accidentally taking a pill could very well result in bad consequences regardless of the dosage. While the prescribed medications may not interact with one another, they could possibly react to something else you ingest. I've seen it happen and the result was tragic. Dont ever assume when taking medications, rx or otc.

Please get a pill organizer and use it.

            Very good advice!

Don't worry, I'm not assuming. My doctor has informed me I can take double my dose if I wish... but I don't, because it makes me too tired, as told above.

              whine

How excellent that the med. mix-up is the worst part of IC for you now!
Thanks for posting that, it really helps. But, don't do it again!
