My husband and I have had the tradition of going to an amusement park on the 4th of July since we began dating. I began having pelvic pain late July of last year, and by September it was debilitating, and I was pretty much bed-ridden. I was so upset at the thought of ruining our 4th of July tradition, especially as this was the first year we would be taking my stepdaughter, as she just hit the magic 48 inches for rollercoasters! (Yes, we are mean and evil and don't want to hang out in the kid's portion of the park!)
After working with a physical therapist, and dutifully taking my medicine(s), and watching my diet for the 9 months since diagnosis, I am happily able to say... we went to the amusement park! I had barely any pain the whole time, and we were go-go-go for hours! My stepdaughter had the time of her life, and we didn't get home until close to midnight. We went for an early dinner beforehand so I wouldn't need to figure out what to eat in the park, and they sold bottled water there, so I was set. It was a great time, and I am so happy I didn't feel like I was letting my family down by not participating in something we all look forward to.
