Still using my tape..it is really good...I am going to look into the tapes in the IC store but I really like mine because he has made them especially for me.....Next week we are going to make one based on going to the beach (The PNW ocean next to a driftwoodfire is one of my favorite things to do....especially on a cold night as long as I'm on a warm part of the sand in warm clothing....Yes a true Northwesterner..) I can relate to these things that are in my world. (Although...I've been to florida quite often and loooove the smell of citrus in the air there. Maybe a future tape topic. Anyone from Tampa been to the Palm Pavilion? I know...I little touristy but the most awesome Pina coladas on the face of the earth...) Man, I could use one or two of those right now...Yummy.

anyway..hope you all find some peace and relaxation.

Has anyone tried the tapes and CD's listed in the ICN shop? Are these guided meditations or what? Which one is best?

I must share funny story with you all regarding this guided imagary tape....You know how I said it's very individualized...and I haven't really heard all of it cause I go to sleep? I heard a bit of it today that woke me up and busted me up laughing so hard I thought I was going to wet my pants. First, as I've said, my counselor is about as dry as a piece of toast. Taken alot for me to get him to laugh, and usually I get people to laugh pretty easy. So, I'm crashed, listening to this tape...in la, la, land but I wanted to be able to wake up at the end because I had to take kid to the dentist. SOOO...as I'm drifting I hear the hypnotic, rather stoned sounding voice say...." the warm color you've thought of has moved to your tummy, ...........to your bladder............to your groin.............and everything is comfortable..................(very long pause) Your tummy, bladder, and groin are now comfortable, floppy, and warm...." At that point I awoke burst out laughing and am now wondering, since he knows about my floppy groin, if I can call him Norm instead of Doctor.

(Actually, my groin is not floppy, life would prob be better for me if was a bit more floppy but I just don't think he realized he put those together in a sentence....)

Oh well...me and my floppy groin, bladder, and tummy (I take the fifth on my tummy) are off to bed..night, night all.

Decnie..you can read my whine story about the nerve block under Nerve trials (or whatever it is called) It basically sucked, even with versed. However....versed is usually wonderful....I just don't think he gave me enough. I wanted to be giggly happy and I was still nervous enough that the xray tech was demoted to holding my legs. It was my first experience and I aint doing it again. (My pelvic area feels a little better today although my back hurts like hell)

    So hows that lmao

Oh... and one way that you know if it's really working for you is if you lose all sense of time. That 1/2 hour went by so quickly tells me that it's REALLY working for you! Atleast, that's what they taught me in grad school when we studied hypnosis and self hypnosis. I'd do it any day!

BTW... Did you see that story on TV that compared weight loss strategies? Some people did Atkins? Others the Beverly Hills Diet?? Some people worked out? Others did hypnosis? Guess who lost the most weight (and maintained it over the long run??)... the self hypnosis people!!!!!!! It really does work!

I'm sooo glad that you've shared this tip. I had exactly the same experience when I started using my audiotapes several years ago. And, yes, like you... I was totally skeptical. I was so desperate at the time, though, I was willing to try anything. I really like the audiotapes by Potentials Unlimited. I've used the Self-Healing, and Relaxation tapes for almost 10 years now and STILL don't know the ending. The best part is that I've now programmed my body to instantly relax as soon as I hear the start of the tape. I look forward to it greatly!

We currently sale LOTS Of these tapes and CD's in our own ICN shop at: http://www.ic-network.com/shop/

started a topic guided imagary tape

    guided imagary tape

Wow..my counselor made a guided imagary tape for me...and I used it during the night last night when ever pain hit me...(like 3 or 4 times) and yesterday once, and it rocked me back to sleep, quickly...I still don't know the ending of the tape. He made it with me in his office and I do know he did the count backward at the end to wake me, but I don't remember much past a "walk next a warm pond in the warm sunshine". Funny thing is, I've always been very skeptical of this kind of thing, and he said that it only works with people with vivid imaginations. (Uh, that would be me...I won't go near scary movies or read scary books) and this is the third session he's done, first he's taped...(theoretically so Icould relax before my nerve block this monday) And I'll I know is , 1/2 an hour goes by in about 3 minutes. He said I'm out usually in about 2 minutes, but I respond to what he says (physically) and I do have pain "twitches" at which point, apparently, in the tape, he's put in a command for me to put my hand over my bladder and let the warmth flow from hand to my bladder. (I haven't heard it yet,,,been very out of it during those points)...All wierd to me but I'm sleeping. (Ha, Ha...just got to thinking, how would you like to know that your voice is so "hypnotic" you put people to sleep) . He does sound like Mr. Rogers...

    Talk to you all later...
