  • Valium

I have been on valium since 2006 - it has worked wonders and I have been in remission for 6 years - an occasional flare here and there. I also have pelvic floor dysfunction - i currently take 4 mg of valium per day and tried to wean to 2 mg - thinking maybe I really don't need it so much - within 1 week there was frequency and a weird tightness in pelvic region. Does anyone take valium or have experience of trying to get off it? Thanks in advance

The only times I have taken valium it was a much higher dose as a pre-surgery relaxant. However --- if it's working well for you and your doctor, it's a low enough dose and you may want to stick with it.

    Warm hugs,

I have recently had my first real flare after 10 years of
mild but constant symptoms. My pain goes away in the evening. Only good that hurts is alcohol but not enough for me to abstain. I have been on the IC diet faithfully as
well but symptoms same. Three weeks ago I had a flare-
frequency every 30 mins, pain bad. Up every hour at night. I think stress brought it on plus drinking more coffee and wine during lockdown. I have a new puppy.
The only thing I thought to try was diazepam which my husband has for back spasms. Took 5 mg and it helped so much especially with pain. Took it for 5 days. My pain is back to my normal but frequency still high. Night time is better. I would like to try the Valium as a suppository

If you're ingesting wine and coffee, that could be what's causing your current frequency. I suggest you abstain from both to see if that helps.
