Not sure if this is the right place to post this...

It’s now my turn to be called for the Covid vaccine here in the UK. It will likely be the Pfizer vaccine as the Moderna vaccine isn’t much used here and the AZ vaccine isn’t recommended for my age group.

I’m not relishing the prospect of a vaccine to be honest but know it’s the right thing to do. My IC is relatively well controlled with diet. I’m certainly not symptom free and at certain times of the month it’s worse, but I haven’t had a major, debilitating flare for 7 years.

So I wondered what to expect after the vaccine. Should I be preparing myself for a flare? I know the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine are meant to be inflammatory and the Pfizer vaccine contains potassium chloride so it kind of feels inevitable. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with it when it happens and how long it lasted for them?

I had the Moderna with no problem other than a sore arm and fatigue for about a week. My daughter had Pfizer (she doesn't have IC) and just had a sore arm. I hope it won't be a problem, but even if it does cause a temporary flare --- I felt it was better than the disease.

    Good luck!
