Sorry guys - no idea if I’m in the right place - I find this site difficult to navigate lol! Just wondered if any of you have tried iArulil bladder instillations? I’ve just finished a 6 week course - my lovely urologist is very hopeful that I’ll see some benefit. I found the process painful but stuck with it as he said he’s had a good success rate with it. If it doesn’t help he’s out of ideas as I’ve tried elmiron, amitryptaline, gabapentin and IC diet - I also have fibromyalgia which he says makes me harder to treat as that can also cause bladder symptoms. Any reviews of iArulil would be good - and also re the IC diet - it’s rather restrictive which is fine if it works - do you find it really makes a difference? Thanks everyone!

IaLuril has the best success rate in research studies for bladder instillations. It's a combination of chondroitin and hyaluronate. I've worked with many patients who have used it successfully in Europe but, as Donna shared, it's still not approved for use down here.
Diet is critically important for IC subtype 1 - Hunner's lesions and IC Subtype 2 - Bladder Wall Driven, especially if you have estrogen atrophy in your bladder or urethra. The bladder is essentially injured in both of these circumstances... thus acid placed in the wound would certainly trigger more pain and discomfort. But, it does depend upon your subtypes. If your symptoms are the result of pelvic floor injury or tension, diet modification may not be needed.
We just released a book which talks about them... IC 101. Also, you can watch a video - The Five Subtypes of IC here - www.ic-network.com/videos/

Thank you so much for such a helpful reply - I believe I am subtype 2 so will definitely stick to the diet! I’ve completed 6 ailuril instillations so far so will see how that goes too! It’s so good to have the forum and feel supported! Thanks again!
